We’ve created comprehensive IKEA guarantees for many of our products and have gathered them all here. Because, while we believe in the quality and durability of our products, at IKEA we like to have your back.
Good to know:
The guarantee is valid from the day you purchase the product. To use the guarantee, you need to let us know about a fault or defect within 3 months of discovering it. If you wish to make a complaint about a product, you must be able to show proof of purchase. You can find receipts from your purchases on My page.
The guarantees don't apply to purchases made in the Second-hand shop.

Mattresses
The mattress guarantee is valid for 10 years from the purchase date. Don't forget your proof of purchase.
What does the guarantee cover?
This guarantee is only valid for use in private homes and covers material and manufacturing defects in mattresses. The guarantee covers:
- Split seams
- Damaged springs
- Broken handles
- Broken mattress bases
- Substantial sagging
What is not covered by the guarantee?
The guarantee does not apply to mattress pads, JÖMNA mattresses, sofa bed mattresses, or children's mattresses.
PAX/KOMPLEMENT
Guarantee for PAX/KOMPLEMENT is valid for 10 years from the purchase date. Don't forget your proof of purchase.
What does the guarantee cover?
The guarantee is only valid for home use and for the storage of clothes and shoes. It covers material and manufacturing defects in the following components of PAX wardrobes and KOMPLEMENT fittings:
- Frames
- Hinged doors and hinges
- Dividers for frames
- Sliding doors and sliding door mechanisms
- KOMPLEMENT fixed fittings

What does the guarantee cover?
The guarantee only applies for domestic use and covers defects in material and workmanship in all shower mixers. Our products are tested well beyond all relevant international standards and we use only top brand components to secure our guarantee promise.
Wash basins and mixer taps
10-year guarantee.
What does the guarantee cover?
The guarantee is only valid for domestic use and covers material and workmanship defects in all wash basins (including traps) and mixer taps.
What is not covered by the guarantee?
The guarantee does not cover products that have been stored, assembled, or installed incorrectly, or cleaned in the wrong way or with incorrect cleaning products, or damage caused by impact, accidents, or particles in the water. The guarantee does not apply if the products have been used outdoors or outside home. It does not cover the filter/aerator in the mixer taps, which is a consumable item.
Living room
Sofas and armchairs
The guarantee for sofas is valid for 10 years from the purchase date. Don't forget your proof of purchase. For some products, we offer a 25-year guarantee.
What is covered by the guarantee?
This guarantee is only valid for home use. It covers material and manufacturing defects in frames, seat cushions, and back cushions and only applies to cushions used with their intended frames and legs.
What is not covered by the guarantee?

The warranty applies only for home use and covers material and manufacturing defects for all products in the ENHET series.
Kitchen mixer taps
The guarantee for IKEA's kitchen mixer taps is valid for 10 years from the purchase date. Don't forget your proof of purchase.
What does the guarantee cover?
IKEA's 10-year guarantee applies to all kitchen mixer taps. This guarantee is only valid for home use and covers material and manufacturing defects in all our kitchen mixer taps. They are thoroughly tested according to all relevant international standards, and we use only high-quality parts to ensure the mixer taps last for 10 years.
What is not covered by the guarantee?
The guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts, scratches, or damage caused by impact, accidents, or particles in the water. The guarantee also does not cover the filter/aerator, which is a consumable item.
Appliances
The Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act (Forbrukerkjøpsloven) applies. For business purchases, the complaint period is 6 months for home appliances.
FAKTUM (discontinued kitchen)
The guarantee for the FAKTUM kitchen system is valid for 10 or 25 years, depending on when you purchased the kitchen:
The 10-year guarantee applies to purchases of the FAKTUM kitchen system from the sales start in 1992 until 31.08.2007.
The 25-year guarantee applies to purchases of the FAKTUM kitchen system from 01.09.2007 until 31.08.2016.
FAKTUM products purchased after 1 February 2019 have no extended guarantee, but you can make a claim on the products according to Norwegian law. IKEA handles all inquiries according to Norwegian legislation and IKEA's guidelines.
What does the guarantee cover?
The guarantee is only valid for home use. It covers material and manufacturing defects in the FAKTUM kitchen system.
Which products are covered by the guarantee?
The guarantee covers the following parts of the FAKTUM kitchen system:

- INTEGRAL hinges
- RATIONELL full-extension drawers

- Worktops that are at least 3,8 cm thick

What is not covered by the guarantee?
Knobs, handles, kitchen lighting, worktops thinner than 3,8 cm, LAGAN products, kitchens bought in the Second-hand shop, and kitchens bought by businesses.
Cooking
IKEA's pots, pans, and frying pans are rigorously tested to withstand daily use. We can guarantee that our IKEA cookware and frying pans without non-stick coatings will maintain their function for 15 years. Don't forget the original receipt.
Office furniture
10-year guarantee.
What is covered by the guarantee?
This guarantee applies to office and public use both at home and outside the home. The guarantee covers material, manufacturing, and functional defects for the following series:

Floor
Guarantees are valid for 10-25 years from the date of purchase. Remember your proof of purchase.
- TUNDRA and PRÄRIE floors have a 10-year guarantee
- GRÄSMARK floors have a 15-year guarantee
- BETESMARK floors have a 25-year guarantee
What does the guarantee cover?
We guarantee that the floor surface will not wear out when used in a regular residential environment, and that it will not fade due to sunlight or get permanent stains with normal use. The original receipt must be provided as proof of purchase.
What is not covered by the guarantee?
The guarantee does not apply to floors that have been misused, altered, or cleaned improperly or with unsuitable cleaning methods or products. It does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts, scratches, or damage caused by impact or accidents. The guarantee does not apply if the floor is installed in a manner that does not comply with the installation instructions provided by IKEA. The guarantee does not apply if the floor is installed in an area not recommended by IKEA.
BROR storage
This guarantee applies to home use and public use outside the home. The guarantee covers material, manufacturing, and functional defects in all main parts of the BROR storage system. See details in the guarantee file below.
