How to design your ideal PAX wardrobe

There are many ready-made PAX combinations to choose from. Or you can design one on your own by simply putting together the wardrobe in size, colour and look that best suits your space and storage needs.

Step 1: choose the frames

First, measure the space you have available for the wardrobe (from floor to ceiling and from wall to wall). PAX frames come in heights of 201 cm and 236 cm, but you should add 1 cm for hinged doors and 4 cm for sliding doors. Available widths are 50 cm, 75 cm or 100 cm and depths are 35 cm or 58 cm. There are two colours to choose from for the PAX frames: white and white stained oak effect.

Step 2: add the doors, knobs and handles

A large number of hinged doors (25 cm or 50 cm wide) or gently closing pairs of sliding doors (150 cm or 200 cm wide) are available to match the frames. Of course, you can also do without doors if you prefer an open wardrobe. Hinged doors are complemented by knobs or handles that can be swapped out at any time if you want to change up the look.

Step 4: it‘s time for the lighting

Lighting for your PAX wardrobe is the icing on the cake because it allows you to quickly find what you are looking for. There are lighting options that you can control smartly with IKEA Home smart app, as well as lights that use sensors to turn on and off automatically when you open or close the door.
