IKEA retailing, with its Swedish roots, is based on a franchise system. Inter IKEA Systems B.V., located in Delft, The Netherlands, is the owner and franchisor of the IKEA Concept. IKEA stores are operated by a number of different franchisees in 62 countries.
The IKEA experience is more than just products, it is a retail concept. For the concept to work, it is necessary to have all aspects in place. Therefore, IKEA products are sold only in IKEA stores franchised by Inter IKEA Systems B.V.
The IKEA business idea is following: "We shall offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them".
Gift cards
You can buy the gift card at the IKEA Riga and at the IKEA plan and order point in Liepaja.
No, you can make several purchases with the same gift card.
You can check your card balance at the checkout in the IKEA Riga store and at the IKEA plan and order point in Liepaja.
Currently, there is no option to use the gift card online.
The gift card can be used only to pay for products and/or services at the IKEA Riga store and at the IKEA plan and order point in Liepaja.
Order handling fee
The order handling fee is intended to cover the costs of the warehouse systems maintenance and products handling. It is applied to online orders under 100 €. If your shopping cart value is equal to or greater than 100 €, no extra fee is applied. The order handling fee is not applied when shopping at the physical IKEA store either.

No, they will not be. Reducing single-use plastics is one of the ways to take care of nature. This is why we offer you tear-resistant and reusable shopping bags and sturdy paper bags instead.
We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro and UnionPay. You can also initiate your payment using the following bank links: Swedbank, SEB, Citadele and Luminor.

Unfortunately, products from other IKEA stores cannot be ordered to the IKEA Latvia store.
A purchase on the IKEA website can be done only when logged in, but you do not need to be a member of the IKEA Family to place an order.
Yes, we will send you an order confirmation e-mail and SMS once we receive your order.
Before placing an online order, you will be notified about the estimated processing time. Information about delivery is provided just before proceeding to the payment.
Check your bank card limits and make sure that secure internet shopping is enabled for your card. If these settings are correct and you still cannot pay for your order, contact your bank.
No worries! For Click & collect, the time slot is just a guideline. You can still collect your order at the pick-up point at a later time that suits you.

Returns and products issues
IKEA complies with flexible return policy. You can return your purchase within 90 days. IKEA Family members can return the products within 365 days if IKEA Family card was used on purchase.

No, you can’t. You can only return items purchased in IKEA Riga store. The only exception is officially, globally announced recalls – these items can be returned to any store.

IKEA Family
Membership at the IKEA Family is free. Besides, in order to get an IKEA Family card, you do not need to buy any goods.
As an IKEA Family member, you receive benefits, rewards, and a few surprises along the way.
- Free coffee or tea. Free hot drink every time you visit the Swedish restaurant on weekdays and spend 1 € or more with your IKEA Family card.
- Special monthly offers. Special offers on products in the IKEA range. To spot the offers, look for the blue IKEA Family labels in-store and online.
- Free insurance of goods. This benefit will insure your new products against any accidental damage on the way home. If you break it, we replace it within 90 days from the date of purchase.
- Be the first at the pre-sale. Acquire the goods at the sale prices one day ahead of those who do not hold the IKEA Family card.
- More fun for children. With your IKEA Family card, your child‘s playing session at Småland will be extended by 30 minutes (this depends on the number of children playing at that time).
- Games & gifts. We enjoy having fun and hope that you do too! That is why from time to time we organise games for you to participate in.
To join this club, you have to create an IKEA Family account. The registration form can be found at www.IKEA.com/lv/en/. After completing the form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Once you confirm your e-mail address and fill in the other required fields of the registration form, an IKEA Family e-card will be sent to your mailbox and added to your IKEA Family account. The e-card proves that you are a club member.
We send the IKEA Family e-mail messages 4 to 5 times per month.
The IKEA Family card may be used only by its holder or their close family member. Your acquaintances may obtain their own cards – this will take no longer than a minute.
No. The e-card is issued only to its holder.
The e-card will be activated immediately after you receive it in your mailbox. You can also find it in your IKEA Family account .
If you have lost your card and would like to access it again, log in to your IKEA Family account on the website www.IKEA.com/lv/en/ or in the IKEA app – you will always find your IKEA Family e-card there. If you are subscribed to the IKEA Family newsletter, you will also see your e-card at the bottom of each newsletter e-mail.
There are various differences between the regular prices and the special IKEA Family prices for the club members. The special prices are applied to certain IKEA products each month. To spot the offers, look for the blue IKEA Family labels in-store and online. To acquire lower prices, do not forget to show your IKEA Family card at the time of purchase or be logged in to your IKEA account while making the purchase online.

When you pay for the products and show your IKEA Family card, you insure your goods against any accidental damage during their transportation. Besides, information about your purchases helps us prepare the offers that are especially interesting and relevant to you.
Your IKEA Family card can only be used in the country it was issued in. If you registered to become an IKEA Family club member in Latvia, your card will be valid only at the IKEA selling points in Latvia.
By logging in to your account, you can update your personal details (such as your name, surname, address, contact information, etc.) and give or change your consent for direct marketing or participation in games and/or competitions.
We care about your privacy, therefore you can update your marketing preferences online, by logging in to your IKEA Family account. If you wish to stop receiving e-mails from us, you can also unsubscribe from our mailing list by clicking the “Unsubscribe” button at the end of any newsletter.
To insure the goods, your IKEA Family card must be shown at the time of purchase at our physical selling points. To claim your free insurance, you should come to the IKEA selling point within 90 days from the date of purchase and bring the item, your IKEA Family card, and your receipt. The free insurance of goods is valid on any purchase, whether you have purchased it for the regular or for the special IKEA Family price. The insurance does not apply to items from the Bargain Corner, purchases made with IKEA gift cards, measured fabrics, or products made to your specification, such as custom-made worktops.
Yes, you should always show your IKEA Family card, no matter what products you’re buying. Here’s why:
- You’ll insure your goods against any accidental damage during their transportation.
- You’ll be able to return the products within 365 days.
- You’ll help us get to know you better and learn about the things you love!
Unfortunately, the cashiers cannot look up your information at this time. However, you have a few options:
- You can access your IKEA Family account on the website www.IKEA.com/lv/en/ or via the IKEA app, where your IKEA Family e-card is always available.
- - Your IKEA Family e-card is at the bottom of all IKEA newsletters. The cashier can scan the QR code from your phone.
We are sad to see you go... But if you wish to terminate your membership, you can do that by logging in to your IKEA Family account and deleting it or by contacting our Customer support or sending an e-mail to info@IKEA.lv.
Yes. By creating an IKEA Family account, you automatically become a member of the IKEA Family club.
IKEA Family offers are valid in our physical selling points and online, as well as at the Swedish Restaurant and the Swedish Food Market.
Every updated IKEA Family account automatically includes an IKEA Family e-card, which is always available there.
Yes, both the digital and physical (plastic) cards serve as proof of IKEA Family club membership. Once you update your IKEA Family account, your e-card – a digital copy of your physical card – will also be available there.
For existing club members who download an e-card, the physical (plastic) card remains valid. If you log in to your IKEA Family account and update your consent to IKEA Terms & Conditions by October 31, 2026, the number of your physical (plastic) card and all its benefits will be retained in your e-card.
Your IKEA Family card will be blocked, and all personal data (such as your name, surname, address if provided, phone number, etc.) as well as your consents for direct marketing or participation in games and/or competitions will be automatically deleted from our systems.
If you do not want an IKEA Family card or to create an IKEA Family account, you can still shop as a guest in the IKEA online store and the mobile app.
If you want to delete your account urgently, contact our Customer support or send an e-mail to info@IKEA.lv.
Create an IKEA Family account, and we will send your e-card by e-mail. You can also always access it by logging in to your IKEA Family account on the website www.IKEA.com/lv/en/ or via the IKEA app.

You received this email because, following an update to our systems, we want to make sure you have saved the latest version of your IKEA Family e-card. You can use the e-card in our physical stores as well as when shopping online or in the app. The card is also saved in your updated account, where you can access it at any time.

Due to popularity and supply issues some products may not always be available. Generally, IKEA can estimate when a product should be back in stock. You can check the stock availability on the product information page to make sure items are available before you visit the store.
We love pets, but due to health reasons, we are not always able to admit them in our store. Only small dogs carried in special bags designed for transporting dogs, as well as service dogs (guide dogs and assistance dogs) accompanying people with disabilities, may enter the store.

IKEA's plan and order point is smaller compared to the store. The purpose of the planning and ordering point is to offer shoppers an easily accessible and inspiring place to get support in planning home improvement solutions, creating furniture combinations to suit individual needs and measurements. Buyers will be able to plan kitchen appliances, cabinets, bathrooms and other furniture.
IKEA plan and order point in Liepāja offer a list of products to take home without ordering in advance. You can come, purchase items you like and take them away immediately.
Products purchased from IKEA Riga store and IKEA plan and order point in Liepāja can be returned to the Plan and Order point. Products that you have bought or ordered outside Latvia cannot be returned to the Plan and Order point.More information about returning policy please find here.
Play area Småland
It is a play area for children at IKEA store. We will take care of kids and their safety and let parents enjoy the shopping.
All children can play at Småland for 1 hour. IKEA Family club members can extend children's playing session by 30 minutes (depending on the number of children playing at that time). Småland can accommodate up to 20 kids at the same time.
Yes, there are some.
- Children must wear socks during the play time.
- Personal belongings, toys included, as well as food and beverages must remain in a special personal box.
- In order to take care of visitors’ health, abstain from visiting play area if the child has a virus or other infectious disease.
It is located on the ground floor, in the store entrance area.
The play area is intended for children from 3 to 7 of age. IKEA co-worker may ask to present a document proving age of the child.
All children are welcome to play in Småland and children with special needs are no exception. However, we would appreciate if parents shared information that is essential for co-workers to know so that play-time is filled with positive emotions, and we can take care of the well-being and security of the child.
Parents and other adults are not allowed at Småland. Our supervisory staff will take care of children.
As every child has different dietary requirements and the sessions are not long, we do not provide food, however, water is available at a child’s request.
Parents or guardians must be in store whilst their children are enjoying our Småland facilities.
Planners
We have a number of online planning tools to help you give shape and substance to your dreams. You can play with colours, styles, sizes and configurations to plan your way to perfection through a variety of kitchen, bathroom, wardrobe and storage planners. You can view your designs in 3D and get a detailed product list to save or print to make it easy to order.
All planners but Kitchen planner, PAX and BESTÅ are available on tablets and mobile devices.
