We’ve created comprehensive IKEA guarantees for many of our products and have gathered them all here. Because, while we believe in the quality and durability of our products, at IKEA we like to have your back.

When IKEA guarantees apply

Our guarantees can change over time and are always determined by the date of order or purchase. The period the terms and conditions of yours applies to starts from the day you receive your product – whether you take it home yourself, or it’s delivered to you – so always keep a record of your purchase and order.

Across kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, each of our guarantees outline exactly what IKEA will do to fix a problem.

General conditions

Who is the provider of commercial guarantee?

The commercial guarantee is provided by the Seller - IKEA Latvija – Paul Mason Properties SIA, company established and operating in accordance with laws of the Republic of Latvia, registration number 50103951541, registered office address Bikeru st. 2, Ulbroka, Stopiņi parish, Ropaži municipality, LV-1079, Republic of Latvia, VAT code LV50103951541, e-mail address: [email protected], contact phone number: +371 6 330 1000.

What commercial guarantee is provided and under what conditions?

The commercial guarantee is valid in the territory of Latvia and can be provided upon purchase of goods in physical or on-line IKEA Latvia store. Each product shall be accompanied by information as regards the commercial guarantee provided. Special conditions of the commercial guarantee are indicated for each specific product covered by the commercial guarantee.

How long is the commercial guarantee valid?

Each commercial guarantee lasts for the number of years stated in the product details attached to each product, starting from the day on which the consumer acquires possession of the goods.

What will IKEA do to correct the problem?

In order to use the commercial guarantee the Buyer should contact the Seller by phone or by e-mail (tel.: +371 6 330 1000; e-mail: [email protected]) and agree on the conditions of delivery (return) of defective goods to the Seller. The Buyer can also return defective goods to the Return and Replacement Department. As regards the guarantee for household appliances, the Buyer should contact a particular guarantee service provider as authorised by IKEA. All contacts and descriptions are provided on IKEA website and also physically attached to each product.

Upon receipt of the product, IKEA will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion, if it is covered under the commercial guarantee. If considered covered, IKEA will then replace it with the same or a comparable product. If a product is covered by a commercial guarantee, IKEA shall pay the costs of repairs, spare parts, labour and travel for repair staff, provided that the product is accessible for repair without special expenditure. This does not apply to any repair work not authorised by IKEA. All the replaced defective parts become the property of IKEA. If the product is no longer sold by IKEA, it will be replaced by a similar product. IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement at its sole discretion.

When does the commercial guarantee take effect?

The commercial guarantee takes effect from the date of purchase of the product in IKEA. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase.

Exclusions

The commercial guarantee does not apply to products that have been stored or assembled incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned using wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products. Natural wear and tear of the product or change in its properties is not considered a defect in quality, therefore it is not covered by the commercial guarantee, as well as any accidental breakage, scratches, etc. The commercial guarantee does not apply for products stored outdoors or in a humid environment or used for non-domestic purposes (unless permitted by the product specification). Also, the commercial guarantee does not apply to such product as plants, light bulbs, batteries, fabrics, custom-made worktops, and products from the Discounted Goods Department. The commercial guarantee does not cover consequential or incidental damages. Care instructions

To be able to use the commercial guarantee the Buyer must to follow the specific care instructions for every product.

General legal rights

The commercial guarantee entitles the Buyer to ask the Seller to repair the defects of the product free of charge or to replace the defective product with another product during the guarantee period. These additional rights do not in any way limit the Buyer’s rights guaranteed by law, including the Buyer’s rights in the event of purchase of a defective product or service.

Who to approach for service under the commercial guarantee?

Please contact your local IKEA store or reach us via internet. Save your purchase receipt as proof of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for the guarantees to be valid. As regards household appliances, please contact the indicated guarantee service provider.

IKEA kitchen guarantee

On the METOD kitchen system, we offer a 25-year guarantee covering defects in material and workmanship.

All kitchen mixer taps from IKEA have a 10-year guarantee, while all IKEA appliances have a 5-year guarantee. The exceptions are LAGAN and TILLREDA, which have a 2-year guarantee.

These guarantees only apply to domestic kitchen use and are subject to terms and conditions.

What is covered under this guarantee?

This 25-year guarantee applies to kitchen furniture used for domestic purposes only. It covers the following parts of the METOD kitchen system:

cabinet frames (except for VADHOLMA and TORNVIKEN),

fronts,

UTRUSTA hinges,

MAXIMERA and EXCEPTIONELL fully-extending drawers,

UTRUSTA shelves of tempered glass and melamine,

plinths,

legs,

cover panels,deco strips/mouldings,

sinks (except FYNDIG sinks),

UTRUSTA dish drainers for wall cabinets.

What is not covered under this guarantee?

The guarantee does not cover UTRUSTA wire baskets, BEHJÄLPLIG sliding-hinge for dishwashers, VADHOLMA and TORNVIKEN cabinet frames, ENHET kitchen system. For these products, the guarantee is valid for ten (10) years.

For UTRUSTA electrical push openers, the guarantee is valid for five (5) years. For handles, knobs, KNOXHULT kitchen system and SUNNERSTA mini-kitchen, a guarantee is valid for two (2) years.
What is covered under this guarantee?

The 5-year guarantee covers faults of the appliance, which have been caused by faulty construction or material faults from the date of purchase of the product at IKEA. This guarantee applies to products used for domestic purposes only. The exceptions are specified under the headline “What is not covered under this guarantee?” These conditions are additional to the requirements provided in the national law. Replaced parts become the property of IKEA.

Which appliances are covered under this guarantee?

The 5-year guarantee is valid for all IKEA appliances, except for LAGAN and TILLREDA appliances, which have a 2-year guarantee.

How long is this guarantee valid?

The guarantee is valid five (5) years from the date of purchase of the product at IKEA. LAGAN and TILLREDA appliances have a 2-year guarantee from the date of purchase. If service work is carried out under the guarantee, this will not extend the guarantee period for the appliance or the new parts.

Who will execute the service?

The IKEA service provider will provide the service through its own service operations or authorised service partner network.

What is not covered under this guarantee?

normal wear and tear,

deliberate or negligent damage, damage caused by failure to observe operating instructions, incorrect installation or by connection to the wrong voltage, damage caused by chemical or electro-chemical reaction, rust, corrosion or water damage including but not limited to damage caused by excessive lime in the water supply, damage caused by abnormal environmental conditions,

consumable parts, including batteries and lamps,

non-functional and decorative parts which do not affect normal use of the appliance, including any scratches and possible changes in colour,

accidental damage caused by foreign objects or substances and cleaning

or unblocking of filters, drainage systems or soap drawers,

cases where the damage is caused by reasons beyond the control of the manufacturer (changes in supply voltage, fluctuations in its frequency, exposure to natural phenomena and natural disasters, animals, insects, etc., use of poor quality water, use of wrong chemical or other substances),

damage to the following parts: ceramic glass, accessories, crockery and cutlery baskets, feed and drainage pipes, seals, lamps and lamp covers, screens, knobs, casings and parts of casings, unless such damage can be proved to be caused by production faults,

cases where no fault could be found during a technician’s visit,

repairs not carried out by our appointed service providers and/or an authorised service contractual partner or where non-original parts have been used,

damage caused by improper installation, installation of household appliances not performed in accordance with the specifications, etc.,

appliance installed in a non-domestic environment, e.g. used for professional purposes,

transportation damage. If the Buyer transports the product to their home or other address him/herself, IKEA is not liable for any damage that may occur during transport. In the case of IKEA delivery of the product to the Buyer’s address, eventual damage to the product that occurs during this delivery will be covered by IKEA (but not under this guarantee). For claims under this last particular condition, the Buyer should contact IKEA Customer Service,

cost for carrying out the initial installation of the IKEA appliance. These restrictions do not apply to work carried out by a qualified specialist using our original parts in order to adapt the appliance to the technical safety specifications of another EU country.

IKEA bathroom guarantee

The 10-year IKEA bathroom guarantee covers defects in material and workmanship on the ÄNGSJÖN bathroom series. It also covers our wash-basins, mixer taps and shower mixers.

All shower accessories such as riser rails, head showers and hand showers, shower hoses and hand shower parking brackets come with a 3-year guarantee.

IKEA bedroom guarantee

We’re known for our mattress guarantee (and our free IKEA 90-day mattress exchange), which covers mattresses and bed bases marked with our logo, against defects in materials and workmanship.

We also offer a 10-year guarantee on PAX wardrobes and KOMPLEMENT interior organisers marked with our logo, against defects in materials and workmanship.

What is covered under this guarantee?

This 10-year guarantee is valid for all bed mattresses in IKEA range.

What is not covered under this guarantee?

This guarantee does not apply to:

Mattresses that are developed to be used directly on the floor, or so-called futon mattresses;

Children mattresses;

Mattress pads;

Built-in mattresses (for example for sofa-beds).

This guarantee applies to products used for domestic purposes only.

This 10-year guarantee applies to domestic use and covers defects in material and workmanship in the following components of the SKYTTA sliding doors:

The guarantee does not cover any marks or damages left on the surface when taken off.

Our sofas are rigorously tested to comply with our strict standards for quality and durability as well as with the highest standards for domestic use. This means that we can offer you a 10-year guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship that covers frames and cushions of our sofas. For our IKEA STOCKHOLM sofa, this involves a 25-year guarantee.

Everyday life at home puts high demands on cookware.IKEA pots, pans and woks are rigorously tested to copewith everyday use. We guarantee the function of IKEA pots,pans and woks without a non-stick coating for 15 years.That means that they will retain their functionality,provided that our care instructions are followed andthey are subjected to normal domestic use (cooking andwashing once a day). What is covered under this guarantee?

This 25-year guarantee covers defects in function, material, and workmanship in the following cookware features:

stability of the base of the cookware,

washing in a domestic dishwasher.

What is not covered under this guarantee?

The guarantee does not cover:

changes in the appearance of the cookware unless they have a significant effect on functionality,

products that have been stored incorrectly,

products the construction of which has been altered,

products that have been used inappropriately,

products that have been cleaned using the wrong cleaning methods or cleaning products.

Natural wear and tear of the product or change in its properties is not considered a defect in quality, therefore it is not covered by the guarantee, as well as any accidental breakage or scratches.
What is covered under this guarantee?

This 15-year guarantee applies to all pots and pans without non-stick coating. It covers defects in function, material, and workmanship in the following cookware features:

stability of the base - the base of the cookware remains flat to conduct heat efficiently;

the construction of the product, no breakages or cracks will happen in the metal parts, handles, etc.

for pots, pans and woks in stainless steel or stainless steel with metallised coating: washing in a domestic dishwasher,

for pots, pans and woks in stainless steel with copper surface, cast iron, enamelled cast iron, enamelled steel, carbon steel or cookware with wooden parts:the guarantee is valid only if you wash your cookware by hand;

this guarantee applies to all purchases made after 1 September 2024.

What is not covered under this guarantee?

The guarantee does not cover: Pots, pans or woks with a non-stick coating are not part of the guarantee.

This guarantee does not cover non-domestic use. This guarantee does not cover changes in the appearance of the cookware unless they have a significant effect on function.

This guarantee does not apply to products that have been stored incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or cleaning products.

This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents.

What is covered under this guarantee?

This guarantee covers function, materials and workmanship in the majority of all IKEA kitchen knives. This means that, for normal domestic use and provided that our care instructions are followed, the knives will retain their functionality, even after 15 years. Normal use is defined as using (for cutting food), cleaning the knife by hand once a day and regular sharpening.

The guarantee covers:

sharpness of the knife. The knife shall be sharp when you buy it and you will be able to keep it sharp so it can function properly, every day. The knife blade is made of a steel that is hardened so that it is possible to sharpen the knife to original sharpness anytime during the guarantee period.

durable handle, including wooden handle. The handle of the knife should not crack, break or come loose from the blade so that the knife is not possible to use.

no corrosion arising on the knife blade.

What is not covered under this guarantee?

Knives with the product name FÖRDUBBLA, HACKIG, UPPFYLLD, SKALAD, MATDOFT and SMÅBIT, as well as knives from cutlery, steak knives and knife sharpeners, are not covered under this guarantee. This guarantee does not cover non-domestic use. This guarantee does not cover changes in the appearance of the cookware unless they have a significant effect on function. This guarantee does not apply to products that have been stored incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or cleaning products. This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents.
