IKEA Buyback Service Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions are in addition to, and do not affect, your statutory rights.
The product under this service is a pre-owned or used item. Without prejudice your statutory rights under the Kuwaiti Laws and Regulations, your purchase contract with IKEA governs the purchase transaction of the used products.
IKEA gives no express, implied, or warranty or undertaking to purchase any Products nor is under obligation to purchase any of the Used Products unless inspection is completed and written acceptance is issued by IKEA by signing off the used product purchase contract shared by our co-workers.
With the Buyback service, we help sellers prolong the life of IKEA furniture. We buy back used furniture items in return for IKEA voucher. We only buy back furniture items that have been used for personal use and that appear on our accepted products list. Items that have been used for business or commercial purposes, or that fall under the excluded products list, will not be accepted.
To participate, follow the step-by-step process by following the instructions on our website. Once you have completed the steps, you will receive an estimate quote of the Buyback value of your IKEA furniture.
All estimated quotes are indicative and subject to a physical inspection of the products by an IKEA co-worker at the participating IKEA store with an As-Is area. The final amount agreed may therefore differ from the estimated quote received, if the physical inspection shows any discrepancies. Please note that we do not agree to buy back your products until they have been confirmed as IKEA products.
All items must be returned clean, unmodified and in good, resalable condition. If a product is returned not fully and correctly assembled to IKEA’s satisfaction, we will not be able to provide an offer.
Used IKEA products must be fully owned by you and not carry any hidden debts or security interests. The amount offered to you by the IKEA co-worker is not open to negotiation, and we reserve the right to refuse any products at our discretion.
If we do not accept your used IKEA products, we will offer you the option to recycle the item for you or to dispose it according to our zero waste to landfill policy. If we accept your used IKEA products, you will receive an IKEA voucher for the agreed amount.
The voucher is redeemable for up to 6 months from the date of issue and can be used in any of the IKEA stores in Kuwait (excluding our Bistro's, Restaurants or Swedish Food Markets), on all products except IKEA Food and As-Is products. The table below sets out the condition classification criteria applied to used items, which form the basis for determining the purchase price, subject to final assessment by IKEA.

- Multiple visible scratches, marks, or colour damage
- May show fading or worn surfaces
- Product remains functional and safe but has a reduced resale appeal
- No missing essential parts and no safety risks

- Chairs and stools (excluding upholstered or leather chairs and stools)
- Children’s furniture (cots, bed frames, storage, tables, chairs and stools)
- Table and floor lights
- Plant pot stands and indoor pots
- Home decoration products (artificial plants and flowers, vases & bowls, mirrors, picture frames & picture ledges)
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to accept items from the categories listed below. However, we are always looking for new opportunities to improve our services so do check back in the future.
- Non-IKEA products
- Component parts
- Hacked or modified products
- Non-assembled IKEA products
- Products that have been used outside, including outdoor furniture
- Upholstered Beds (excluding extendable children's beds)
- Mattresses & bed textiles (such as blankets and mattress toppers)
- Sofas/armchairs
- Other soft goods (pillows, towels, curtains, etc.)
- Kitchens including worktops, cabinets and fronts
- System wardrobes (incl. PAX and interiors)
- Other over-sized items
- Appliances and other electrical items

The product under this service is a pre-owned or used item sold in as-is condition. Without prejudice your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Law (Law No. 39 of 2014), and IKEA shall not be liable for normal wear, appearance, or minor defects consistent with prior use.
We aim to resell used furniture in our As-Is area to provide a chance for someone who is interested in giving it a second life at an affordable price. This service also helps us to become more positive towards people and planet and to transform into a more sustainable company.
Our intention is to sell used products to a new home, and we want to ensure that used products purchased from our stores are of a good quality. The reselling service is currently only set up to handle complete, assembled and fully functional pieces of used IKEA furniture from the categories listed below.
- Chest of drawers and bedside tables
- Bookcases, shelving units
- Display cabinets and sideboards
- Office storage
- Small tables and dining tables
- TV benches and media storage units
- Desks
- Chairs and stools (excluding upholstered or leather chairs and stools)
- Children’s furniture (cots, bed frames, storage, tables, chairs and stools)
- Table and floor lights
- Plant pot stands and indoor pots
- Home decoration products (artificial plants and flowers, vases & bowls, mirrors, picture frames & picture ledges)
Used products purchased from the Resell (pre-owned) section in As-Is are excluded from our 365 exchange and return policy.
