To find out how to best help people with issues like this, Paul and his colleagues visited different homes on three continents. They took pictures and bombarded the homeowners with storage-related questions. “We got to see the hard truth, and it wasn’t always pretty,” smiles Paul. “Many have closets with just a shelf and a rail underneath. It’s simple, but not very functional. They stuff the shelf and hang as much as they can on the rail – the rest ends up on the floor.”

My area for storage was too small in width for other options.
I went with a x2 stack wide beside a x2 stack narrow, small mesh basket set-up, configured side by side. Using the coat rack rail, does not work if you are going to stack x2 height like this. It only works between one unit stack of each and the bar is so low it’s not useful.
You will need to layer at least x5 cardboard layers underneath when assembling and have a rubber mallet on hand. Definitely check the floor surface is protected as you proceed.
ISSUES 1. assembly - you need a mallet but this isn’t advertised? 2. Configuration limitations: no top shelf for narrow unit and no coat rail option for higher stacking between the different units; 3. quality issues of basket underside finish (and the hassle of extra time spent having to organise an exchange). Keep your box packaging in case you need to exchange.

I miss looked at the shelf and didnt know there was an actual product with two shelves and instead bought two lids by accident. Although it doesnt fit right i use it as a second shelf which is what I needed . I would love if we were able to have little bits to add to make a shelf and not just drawers. (I know you have other products but if i were to able to create a shelf with the in the second row it would have been perfect height for me)
