How do I connect my IKEA Matter smart product to the DIRIGERA app?

For customers who have recently purchased an IKEA Matter-enabled product, this guide will walk you through the steps to connect for the first time.

Before you begin

·        IKEA Home smart app and DIRIGERA Hub is updated to the latest version.
·       Turn on the product (connect the power cable, install the bulb or insert the battery).
·         IKEA Smart products are ready to connect for 15 minutes as soon as they are turned on.

The app will let you know when it's ready to connect

When the IKEA Home smart app detects a product, it will prompt you if you want to add it to your home. This means that the product is ready for connection.
After 15 minutes, the pairing window closes, and you need to do one of the following:
·         To start a new 15-minute pairing window, press the system button once. In the case of smart lights, it is a good idea to turn off the lights and turn them back on.
·         If the product still does not connect, press and hold the system button for 10 seconds to Factory Reset Please do it. For smart lights, follow the instructions in the IKEA Home smart app to turn the lights on and off 6 times at a specific rhythm.
·         A factory reset will erase all old data and previous connections, and your product will be able to connect again. Once the factory reset is complete, the 15-minute pairing window will automatically start.

Stay close while connected

·         Smart products connect via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Keep your smartphone near the hub or product while connected.
·         Matter products use a different network than traditional IKEA smart products like TRÅDFRI. It's important to be close to the hub to establish a strong connection, especially when connecting your first product.

If nothing happens

·         Sometimes the product may no longer appear on your smartphone. This can happen if the connection is repeatedly tried and failed.
·        To clear all old connections and start over, Factory Reset Try it. Press and hold the system button for 10 seconds, or in the case of smart lights, follow the instructions in the IKEA Home smart app to turn the light on and off 6 times at a specific rhythm.
