Vibrating/knocking fan is irritatingMarianI wanted to reduce particles in the air using low cost filters, and didn't care much about having activated charcoal or other fancy features, so I thought this one was perfect for me. It looks good (although I would prefer if it didn't have the large strap), but I am unfortunately quite disappointed by the amount of noise it makes. I don't know whether my one is just faulty (and, even if it is, whether the fault would be considered serious enough for them to exchange it), but it sounds like the fan inside is wobbling a bit. I don't mind the whooshing noise of the air, but the knocking noise and vibrations caused by this wobbling, especially if the unit is placed on a surface that amplifies the sound of the unit vibrating against it, is quite irritating.
Excellent product PatriciaI use this in my bedroom, it is excellent, and runs nice and quiet for when you are sleeping. As an asthmatic, this really helps.
