Not washableCalanthaI bought this without noticing the care instructions, which I’ll admit fault to, but it never occurred to me that a laundry bag would not be washable. “Wipe with lukewarm water” is the only given option, and since it’s plastic interior it’s not breathable so any dirty laundry is going to get very stinky and then you can’t even wash the bag properly. Seems very silly to me.1

Honestly I was hoping for more laundry basket/bag options to see that had some size to them and this was the largest and best one I found. Hopefully it will do the job!

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
