Flimsy insertAnonymous reviewerThis is realy filmsy quality insert and the supplied screws are too small. The cardboard is too thing and the door gets stuck inside it. Why could Ikea no supply a door and a back cover instead of a box. The screws did not stay in place and I had return this with the unit.1
Impossible to install without drillSabaThe instructions were the most confusing of any ikea product I have ever bought….lots on what NOT to do. Less info on what to do with the folding part of the unit OR all the screws & kept jumping around.. NOTE it’s a permanent install unit inside your Kallax with sharp screws that will permanently mark your shelves. BUT impossible to install without an electric drill. Looks nice (wedged 1 in temporarily) and once my friend lends me their drill I am sure it will be great (although screws look longer than the dividers in Kallax so maybe not?). One screw didn’t fit pre-made hole & kept falling out. Despite that it is good quality door. Less so on the rest of the box which seems flimsy1

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
