In HAVSTEN you sit deep, low and soft with a comfortable resilience thanks to the elastic mesh in the bottom.
You can just shake off water from a light rain, as the cushion cover is water repellent.
The cushion covers are dope dyed, a process that reduces consumption of water and dyestuff while improving colour fastness compared to traditional dyeing techniques.
The cushion has a longer life, since it can be turned over and used on both sides.
Easy to keep clean since the cushion cover can be removed and washed.
The firmness of the mesh fabric can be tightened/adjusted with the strap in the back.
Possible to separate for recycling or energy recovery if available in your community.

Storing: If possible, store in a cool dry place indoors. If the furniture is stored outside, cover it with a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.
Store the sofa cushions in a cool, dry place indoors when the season is over, preferably in a storage bag or storage box to protect from dirt and dust. Make sure the cushions are completely dry before storing them away.

Poor quality product - stitching fell apart after 2 yearsDavidI bought the Havsten 2 seater sofa in 2023 - after less than 2 years (and only seeing maybe 10 days of use - Irish weather doesn't often allow us to sit outside!), the stitching completely fell apart on both seats.
Worse still, no replacement can be provided by IKEA (free or otherwise) - the guarantee on this product is only 1 year! I don't know who spends over €500 on outdoor furniture and expects it only to last 1 year. Not good enough from IKEA on this occasion, and the fact that no replacement part is available is not in keeping with the sustainability that IKEA so often refer to.1
