Shameful, misleading advertising by IKEA.MarkI bought this instead of some cheaper options because it is the best fit for what I need in terms of size and number of drawers. I read the comments and was aware of the issues before buying. On a positive, it is generally very well built, sturdy and the drawers open and close with a very satisfying, fluid motion. The first problem is that the locking mechanism simply does not work and is not fit for purpose. In fact, I wouldn't recommend anyone to lock it as the two levers (152736) could fall off the central mechanism and you might not be able to open it. As I never intended to lock it, I just removed them. The bigger problem is the depth of the drawer sides. It is not clear from the photos how shallow they are. I believe that is deliberate on IKEA's part as they do not include the drawer depth in either place where the measurements are shown, unlike with many other drawer units. This is very clearly an attempt to hide the unit's biggest weakness and most complained about feature.1
