Awkward no more: the sides of your kitchen cabinets

Some things are standard in every kitchen: cabinets, countertops, a sink...and a handful of weird spaces that are just there. In the first installment, we tackled the space above kitchen cabinets. Now, let’s make the sides of kitchen cabinets do more than collect dust.

The laundry assistant is a big help, especially if your washer and dryer are in the kitchen. There’s room to hang dry, baskets to hold your iron and soaps, cloth bags to store hand wash items and a spot for an itty bity ironing board, too!

The cook’s toolbox places kitchen essentials right by the work top. We made a shelf for spices and oil and a rail to hang tools like tablet stand and scissors. The herbs, foil and plastic bags? They’re on thin curtain rods.

The command center holds your household good to haves (you know, junk drawer stuff) and good to knows. We used a magazine file, magnetic jars on a strip and a removable plastic basket to keep everything organised.

The activity station helps entertain your kids in the kitichen while you cook. You can keep an eye on them while colours, toys and screens keep them having fun. With some loops added to a cushion, you’ve got a hangable, instant seat.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
