IKEA interior design service Terms and Conditions


Terms & Conditions for the IE online interior design service  

  1. These terms and conditions apply to the online interior design for your home advice/service and the Remote Interior Design for your Business service by IKEA as available on the website.
  2. The online interior design for your home advice/service is tailored for private customers only while the online interior design for your business service is tailored for Business customers only. For further reference both private and business customers will be referred to as the “Customer”.
  3. Services are limited in time, as detailed below, and happen remotely with an Online Interior Designer (the “Designer”).:
    1. Online interior design advice: one appointment comprising of up to 60-minute consultation appointment and sharing a link to pay for your order if applicable.
    2. Online interior design service: two appointments comprising of 1) up to 45-minute consultation appointment; 2) up to 45-minute presentation of plans and sharing a link to pay for your order if applicable.
    3. Online interior design Business: up to three appointments comprising of 1) up to 45-minute consultation appointment: 2) up to 45-minute presentation of plans and feedback and 3) final up to 45-minute appointment with updated plans and sharing a payment link for your order if applicable.
  4. During the appointments the Designer will assist the Customer in discussing solutions within the IKEA range based on the measurements provided and budget from the Customer.
    1. Online interior design advice: The designer will give interior design advice, present a product collage and/or shopping list, and/or basic 2D floorplan if discussing layout and measurements are provided prior to or during the call.
    2. Online interior design service and business: The design will be presented as a mood board, floor plan with suggested furniture, products and accessories where functionally relevant and a shopping list (the “Proposal”). The design will consist of recommended products intended for the specific use of the product. Additionally, for Business Customers only, the design will also include elevations or 3D views if applicable.
  5. a) Online interior design service: The Customer will receive one design option only. Any additional options or revisions due to suitability or product availability will need to be arranged directly with the designer at their next available opportunity and will incur a charge of €65 If a redesign is required, this will incur a charge of the original booking fee or require you to book a new appointment using the online booking system. If a redesign is required, due to suitability or product availability, this will incur a charge of the original booking fee and arranged at the designers' next available opportunity.
    b) Online Interior Design Business: The Customer will receive one design option only. Any additional options or revisions required will need to be arranged directly with the designer at their next available opportunity and will incur a charge of €65. If larger changes or a redesign is required, this will incur a charge of the original booking fee and require you to book a new appointment with your designer. If a redesign is required, due to suitability or product availability, this will incur a charge of the original booking fee and arranged at the designers' next available opportunity.
  6. The customer should review the specifications on the IKEA website and product instructions to decide on the suitability of the products for the customer’s intended use. The customer accepts that no additional warranties or consumer rights relating to the product beyond those given in the IKEA terms and conditions of sale shall apply. Any such warranties, express or implied, are hereby fully excluded.
  7. The Service must be booked using the web planner which can be found on the website. Once the booking is confirmed, an online survey will need to be completed a minimum 48 hours prior to the first appointment in order to help the Designer with regards to what room(s) the services are required for, what the needs of the room(s) are, and the design styles preferred.
  8. The customer must provide measurements for the room(s) along with images of the room(s) they want advice on 48 hours prior to the first appointment which allows the Designer to prepare in advance. IKEA accepts no liability for room dimension accuracy provided by the customer, unless the customer has used the IKEA Kitchen measuring service.
  9. The services are subject to a fee:
    1. The online interior advice: €25 for one 60-minute online appointment.
    2. The online interior design: €90 for two appointments, for a room up to 20sqm.
    3. The online interior design Business: €250 for three appointments, up to 100sqm (spaces over 100sqm will be charged at an additional 3 euros per sqm) Any subsequent meetings for multiple options or revisions after the third appointment shall have an additional fee of €65 per option/revision arranged at the designers next available opportunity. Fees shall be paid via payment link after enquiring and providing details of the space through the online interior design email address ikea.interiordesignservice.ie@ikea.com And shall not be refundable under any circumstances, unless the appointment has been cancelled by IKEA and no new date could be agreed.
  10. IKEA reserves the right to cancel the booking at any time before the appointment. IKEA shall use reasonable endeavors to provide the customer with advance notice of any cancellation. However, in any circumstances where an appointment is cancelled, the customer will be offered a new appointment or a refund if no new date could be agreed.
  11. The customer may cancel the appointment at any time before the appointment is scheduled by emailing, interiordesignservice.ie@ikea.com. Attempts will be made to reschedule the appointment within a four-week period pending availability.
  12. It cannot be guaranteed that the customer will always find suitable products, or that everything will be available at the time of purchase. Further amendments due to availability or suitability will incur a charge of € If a redesign is required, this will incur a charge of the original booking fee and arranged at the designers' next available opportunity.
  13. Any products mentioned from external suppliers or sole traders suggested by the Designer to implement the Service are utilised at the customers own discretion and risk and are therefore excluded from the scope of these Terms and Conditions. Any products from external suppliers or sole traders are recommended for the customers own convenience only. IKEA has no control over external suppliers or sole traders and accept no legal responsibility for any products purchased from external suppliers or sole traders. Any reference to any external supplier or sole trader does not mean that IKEA endorses that third party’s website, products or services. The customer’s use of that external suppliers or sole traders website, product or service shall be governed by the terms and conditions of that external supplier or sole trader and is at the customer’s own risk.
  14. Designers cannot create custom or modified solutions for Customers and are limited to suggesting IKEA furniture and products designed for their intended use only.
  15. Designers creating Childrens rooms are required to use only recommended furniture approved for children, and suitable for the age of the child.
  16. IKEA reserves the right to withdraw the Service or amend these conditions at any time without notice.
  17. Customer data will be processed in accordance with IKEA’s privacy policy, details of which are available on the following website ikea.com/ie.
