Terms & Conditions for the IE online interior design service
These terms and conditions apply to the online interior design for your home advice/furnishing/interior services by IKEA as available on the website.
- There are three options available for online interior design services for your home, all services happen remotely with an Online Interior Designer (the “Designer”) These services are tailored for private customers only and limited in time, as detailed below:
- (1.) interior design advice – consists of one online meeting up to 60 minutes to discuss interior design advice with an interior designer. The customer will then receive a shopping list with link to pay if applicable.
- (2.) interior furnishing service – consists of one online meeting up to 60 minutes, the Designer will create a basic room design based on your specific requirements and measurements provided. Once the design is complete, the Customer will receive an email link to the plan and a shopping list with a link to pay if applicable. The design will be shared as a floor plan with suggested furniture and a shopping list (the “Proposal”). The design will consist of recommended products intended for the specific use of the product. The Customer will receive one design option only. If amendments or a redesign are required due to suitability or product availability, this will incur a charge of the original booking fee or require you to book a new appointment using the online booking system.
- (3.) interior design service – consists of two online meetings up to 45 minutes, the Designer will create a detailed room design with photo realistic 3D views based on your specific requirements and measurements provided. Meeting one will consist of a discussion between the Customer and the Designer to understand the needs and aspirations of the room based on the measurements provided. Meeting two will consist of a presentation of the detailed room design by the Designer, the Customer will then receive an email link to the plan and a shopping list with a link to pay if applicable.
- The design will be presented as a mood board, floor plan with suggested furniture, products and accessories where functionally relevant and a shopping list (the “Proposal”). The design will consist of recommended products intended for the specific use of the product. Additionally, the design will also include 3D views.
- The Customer will receive one design option only. If amendments or a redesign are required due to suitability or product availability, this will incur a charge of the original booking fee or require you to book a new appointment using the online booking system. During the appointments the Designer will assist the Customer in discussing solutions within the IKEA range based on the measurements provided (excluding online interior design advice) and budget from the Customer. The customer should review the product specifications on the IKEA website and product instructions in order to decide on the suitability of the products for the customer’s intended use. The customer accepts that no additional warranties or consumer rights relating to the product beyond those given in the IKEA terms and conditions of sale shall apply. Any such warranties, express or implied, are hereby fully excluded.
- The Service must be booked using the web planner which can be found on the website. Once the booking is confirmed, an online survey will need to be completed within 48 hours after booking confirmation has been received in order to help the Designer with regards to what room(s) the services are required for, what the needs of the room(s) are, and the design styles preferred.
- The customer must provide the Designer with the measurements for the room(s) along with images of the room(s) within 48 hours after booking confirmation has been received. IKEA accepts no liability for room dimension accuracy provided by the customer, unless the customer has used the IKEA Kitchen measuring service.
- The services are subject to a fee:
- Interior design advice - online: €25 for one 60-minute online appointment.
- Interior furnishing service - online: €60 for one appointment, for a room up to 20sqm.
- Interior design service - online: €120 for two appointments, for a room up to 20sqm.
- The Fee shall not be refundable under any circumstances, unless the appointment has been cancelled by IKEA and a new date could not be agreed between IKEA and the Customer.
- IKEA reserves the right to cancel the booking at any time before the appointment. IKEA shall use reasonable endeavors to provide the customer with advance notice of any cancellation. However, in any circumstances where an appointment is cancelled, the customer will be offered a new appointment or a refund if no new date can be agreed.
- The customer may cancel the appointment at any time before the appointment is scheduled by emailing, [email protected]. Attempts will be made to reschedule the appointment within a four-week period pending availability. - It cannot be guaranteed that the customer will always find suitable products, or that everything will be available at the time of purchase. If amendments or a redesign are required due to suitability or product availability, this will incur a charge of the original booking fee or require you to book a new appointment with your designer.
- Any products mentioned from external suppliers or sole traders suggested by the Designer to implement the Service are utilised at the customers own discretion and risk and are therefore excluded from the scope of these Terms and Conditions.
- Any products from external suppliers or sole traders are recommended for the customers own convenience only. IKEA has no control over external suppliers or sole traders and accept no legal responsibility for any products purchased from external suppliers or sole traders. Any reference to any external supplier or sole trader does not mean that IKEA endorses that third party’s website, products or services. The customer’s use of that external suppliers or sole traders website, product or service shall be governed by the terms and conditions of that external supplier or sole trader and is at the customer’s own risk.
- Designers cannot create custom or modified solutions for Customers and are limited to suggesting IKEA furniture and products designed for their intended use only.
- Designers creating children’s rooms are required to use only recommended furniture approved for children, and suitable for the age of the child.
- IKEA reserves the right to withdraw the Service or amend these conditions at any time without notice. Customer data will be processed in accordance with IKEA’s privacy policy, details of which are available on the following website ikea.com/ie.
- The service is provided, and this offer is made, by IKEA Ireland Ltd, company registered in Ireland with registered office at 6th Floor, Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2. Our VAT Number is 6420143R.

These terms and conditions apply to the online interior design for your Business service by IKEA as available on the website.
The online interior design for your business is tailored for Business customers only meaning an organisation or company purchasing goods for their business consumption. For further reference business customers will be referred to as the “Customer”.
Services are limited in time, as detailed below, and happen remotely with an Online Interior Designer (the “Designer”):
- Online interior design for Business: up to three appointments comprising of:
- 1) up to 45-minute consultation appointment:
- 2) up to 45-minute presentation of plan and feedback and
- 3) final up to 45-minute appointment with updated plans and sharing a payment link for your order if applicable.
- During the appointments the Designer will assist the Customer in discussing solutions within the IKEA range based on the measurements provided and budget from the Customer.
- The design will be presented as a mood board, floor plan with suggested furniture, products and accessories where functionally relevant, and a shopping list (the “Proposal”). The design will consist of recommended products intended for the specific use of the product. Additionally, the design will also include 3D views if applicable.
- The Customer will receive one design option only. If amendments or a redesign are required due to suitability or product availability, this will require you to book a new appointment with your designer.

- A member of the booking team will then arrange the next available appointment directly with the Customer. Once the booking is confirmed, the booking team will contact the Customer a minimum of 48 hours after booking confirmation has been received to gather additional information to help the Designer with regards to what room(s) the services are required for, what the needs of the room(s) are, and the design styles preferred.
