Prepare for your visit

It’s great that you’re making plans to visit us at IKEA! Here you’ll find information about features and facilities at our stores so your visit can be planned with confidence. Accessibility, diversity and inclusion are embedded in our culture, with our teams always ready to give a warm welcome for everyone.

Sensory-friendly shopping 27th and 28th March 10am - 12pm

In our continued efforts to curate an inclusive shopping experience for all, on the 27th and 28th of March between 10am - 12pm, we will be making changes to our normal practices.

This will include only essential in-store announcements, dimming or switching off lights where possible, assisted shopping where needed and dedicated checkout support.

Family friendly store & parking

For many a trip to IKEA is a fun day out for the whole family. We take pride in ensuring there are features and facilities available that families need and with something for everyone to enjoy.
All our IKEA stores have free parking, which include Disabled and Parent & Baby parking bays.

Småland (crèche)

We like to make visiting IKEA both fun for kids and easier for grownups. Småland is our free supervised play area, located at the entrance of our stores.

All children 3-10 years old are welcome to play here! Sorry adults, it may look fun, but it is only for the kids.

For now, and in-line with Government guidance, all our play areas including Småland will remain closed for now.

  • Inclusivity

We know how important it is to provide children with additional needs 1:1 care on their first visit, so we can assess their individual needs.

In some cases, during busy times, you may be asked to take a later booking time in order for us to accommodate the 1:1 care. This allows us to determine, along with information provided by parents, if a child will require the same level of care for future sessions to ensure their individual needs are met.

Should you have any questions about how your child is integrating into our setting, please feel free to discuss this with the manager.

Please visit your local store for opening hours and more information.

Free wifi

Our free WiFi is available all over the store and we are proud to be members of the Friendly WiFi scheme.

  • To connect for the first time:

    1. Switch on the Wi-Fi on your device and select 'IKEA Wi-Fi'
    2. Register with your IKEA FAMILY card or email address.
    3. Accept the terms and conditions, and start browsing!

To re-connect the next time you visit:

    1. Switch on the Wi-Fi and your device should recognize the 'IKEA Wi-Fi' and connect automatically.
    2. Open your browser to accept the terms and conditions and you are back online!

The Friendly WiFi symbol is designed to help children, young people and adults navigate their way through the high street and when they are making choices on days out and holidays, giving the option to use a 'Friendly WiFi' venue to ensure that the public WiFi that they are accessing is filtered and safe. It can be confusing for young people and children to understand what symbols mean, hence why the accreditation service has been launched to create one symbol which is easily recognised and gives the confidence that the WiFi is filtered and independently accredited.  IKEA are proud to be members of the scheme and ensure their customers are safe whilst online in any IKEA store.
