How does IKEA assembly service work?

With IKEA's Assembly Service, trusted fitters can install your IKEA furniture in your home. You can book assembly in‑store or online during checkout.

This is how assembly service work:
Step 1: Book and pay for the Assembly Service in-store or online during your checkout process and choose your time and date.
Step 2: Check for a confirmation e-mail from our trusted provider, Creative Fitting, that includes the next steps.
Step 3: The fitter arrives at your home or office to complete the assembly.
Step 4: Save documents and spare parts (just in case) and enjoy your assembled furniture!
  1. Book and pay for the Assembly Service in-store or online during your checkout process.
    When booking online:
    a) Add your products to your shopping bag on IKEA.com.
    b) Enter your eircode at checkout to check service availability.
    c) Review and agree to the IKEA Assembly Service Terms & Conditions.
    d) Select your dates: one for product delivery and one for assembly.
    e) Choose your payment method and complete your purchase. Please note: you pay for both the products, delivery service and assembly service through IKEA.
  2. Check your email for a message from our trusted provider, Creative Fitting, that includes the next steps. You’ll receive a welcome email and booking confirmation from Creative Fitting, which includes instructions on the next steps.
  3. Reschedule or cancel if needed. If you need to reschedule or cancel your assembly service, reach out to IKEA directly by contacting us at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled service taking place.

If you cancel your order for the Service less than 48 hours before the assembly appointment, or you are not on-site when the Fitter arrives, you will still be liable for the full assembly charge due to the Fitter’s wasted labour charge.
  4. Leave your to-be-assembled products in the original packaging. Place the packages in the room where you want them to be assembled, and make sure that the room is a safe area for the fitter to perform the assembly.
  5. The fitter arrives at your home or office to complete the assembly at the agreed-upon date and time. Please note that the fitters are unable to dispose of the packaging for you.
