How do I get started with the METOD kitchen planner?
In the IKEA METOD kitchen planning tool, you can either start designing completely from scratch or choose existing design suggestions to help you get started.
- Before you start designing your dream kitchen, we recommend logging into your IKEA Family profile. This allows you to save your design to your profile and easily find it later if you need to take a break from designing.
- Also, be sure to prepare the measurements of your kitchen before you start planning, so you can make sure your kitchen design will fit in your space.
- First, navigate to the METOD Kitchen planner, and then press 'Start designing'. The first time you will be asked to define oven location, extractor hood type, fridge/freezer preference and layout type. You can, of course, modify these options later if needed or choose the option 'Design from scratch'.
- Next, pick a room shape similar to yours for your kitchen. After this, you can start adding your room measurements and add the first set of products to your kitchen.
- If you need some extra inspiration, you can choose existing design suggestions to help you get started by navigating to ‘Choose a favourite’.
- If you can't access the METOD kitchen planner, try launching the tool in a different web browser or in a private (incognito) window. You can also try disabling or clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser before reloading the page. If you are unsure how to do this for your specific browser, use a search engine like Google to find instructions.
- Our planner is designed to work well on most computers and laptops. On smartphones or other mobile devices, you may receive a notification that the planner can only be used on larger screens. If you receive this notification on a large-screen device, try adjusting the screen resolution via your operating system settings. Choose the highest available resolution. We also suggest trying to zoom out the tab in your browser (e.g. setting it to 90%).
- If you are still unable to access the tool, there may be a temporary bug with the tool, and we recommend trying again later.
