My high-gloss product is the wrong colour
Protective film is used to cover the panels to protect it from scratches during transport and assembly. You can simply peel this off when required.
IKEA uses a protective film on most high-gloss products to help reduce the number of scratches that the product could attain during production, transportation and assembly. This protective film is normally coloured blue or grey.
To remove the film, simply peel it off carefully and your glossy new product will be ready to go!
