Bed sheets

Make that clean sheets feeling part of your self-care routine

There are few feelings so universally loved as climbing into a bed with clean sheets fresh from the shower. The worries of the day seemingly slip away as we settle into the crisp and cosy softness. So why do so many of us reserve this feeling for twice a month (or less we’ve read the studies) when you can freshen your linens every week with easy-care, machine washable bed sheets?

Choosing the best bed sheets for you

With a wide choice of colours and patterns, finding bed sheets to suit your style is easy. To choose the right option for your bed, it helps to consider a few practical details too.

• Choose your material: Cotton, cotton blends and linen all offer a different look and feel, so the best choice comes down to personal preference.
• Consider thread count: A higher thread count can add softness, but it’s not the only sign of quality. Well-made sheets can still feel soft and durable at lower thread counts.
• Check mattress depth: Mattress depth can vary, so it’s important to choose fitted sheets with enough room to fit securely around your mattress.

Tips to maintain your bedsheets

Keep your bedsheets feeling fresh, soft and comfortable with a little everyday care:

• Wash regularly according to the care label instructions to help keep them clean and fresh.
• Choose a gentle cycle with a mild detergent to help protect the fabric and maintain its softness.
• Air dry where possible, or use a low tumble dry setting to help reduce shrinkage and wear.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to help preserve the fabric and colour.
• Iron on a low setting if needed for a smooth, neat finish.
