“Is it really…. yes, it's a plant-based hot dog! When developing this hot dog, the goal was for it to resemble our meat-based hot dog in taste, look and texture as much as possible. And I´m very happy with the result. We have recreated the slightly smoky taste, given the skin the right snap and succeeded in making the hot dog look really tasty. Perfect for anyone who wants to cut back on their meat-eating but loves hot dogs!"

We at IKEA love furniture – and hot dogs. It was already in the 1980s that our iconic hot dog was introduced as proof that it’s possible to combine high quality with low price. Now our Bistro is offering a plant-based hot dog made from rice protein. We’ve tested, chewed and succeeded in giving the hot dog casing that right snap and the contents a good smoky flavour.
