Licensing terms for use of photos in IKEA media

We love your photo and how you have used our products in your space! We believe that others will love it too, which is why we would like to use and publish your photo on our websites and social media (and maybe even on digital screens in our stores). First, however, we need your authorisation to use your photo in this way.

We are IKEA Retail Services AB (“we”/“us”), a Swedish limited company with corporate identity number 556661-0886 and registered address at HUS A PL3 COPY 1, 205 28 Malmö, Sweden. We are part of INGKA Group, which means that we are ultimately owned by INGKA Holding B.V. 

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to our use of words, images, illustrations, photographs, data, information or other content featuring IKEA products that you have created (“Content”) and posted on a third-party platform or website (such as Instagram, Facebook or Twitter).

If you agree to let us use the Content under the Terms described below, please respond by posting the hashtag #kylläIKEA on the IKEA comment on your social media account. Your response should be placed in the same thread, chat or private message and made without any additional conditions or additions (a #kylläIKEA hashtag with any additional text will be interpreted as a “no”), so that we can be sure that you authorise our use of the Content as described below. Please note that an authorised service provider (such as Yotpo Ltd) may contact you on our behalf.

Consent and declaration to IKEA Retail Services AB

By replying to this message with #kylläIKEA, you agree to these Terms and confirm/guarantee the following:

  1. that you are at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian to accept these Terms;
  2. that the Content is your original creation and not copied from someone else or, alternatively, that you have obtained all rights from the rights holder to allow us to use your Content in accordance with these Terms;  
  3. that you grant IKEA Retail Services AB and its affiliates a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable, transferable, irrevocable and perpetual right and licence to use, edit, modify, copy and crop, display, publish and distribute the Content in any format on all INGKA Group mobile applications and retailer websites, including but not limited to all subdomains of IKEA.com, on digital screens, digital projectors or equivalent in our stores and other physical locations, as well as on any third-party platform or website (whether existing or future) used by any INGKA Group company (collectively, “IKEA Media”), for communication, marketing or other commercial purposes;
  4. that you grant IKEA Retail Services AB and its affiliates the right to use and publish your social media username or nickname (sometimes also referred to as “handle”) in connection with the Content, on all IKEA Media, for communication, marketing or other commercial purposes;
  5. that the Content does not infringe upon or otherwise violate any third party’s copyright, trademark, trading, privacy or other intellectual property or other rights; and
  6. that, to the extent permitted by law, you waive any moral rights you may have in relation to the Content, such as any rights you may have to be named as the copyright owner and/or creator of the Content or to protect the integrity of your Content.

You acknowledge that we have no obligation to publish your Content on IKEA Media and that any published Content may be removed at any time, without notification. You agree that you will not receive any payment or other remuneration if we use your Content in any IKEA Media. Removal of the Content or the #kylläIKEA hashtag from the third-party platform where you posted it and confirmed your agreement to these licensing terms will not automatically revoke the licence or result in the removal of the Content from IKEA Media. Please contact IKEA Customer Support if you no longer agree to let us use the Content in the way described above.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not accept responsibility for any damage, injury or loss whatsoever suffered by you as a result of the use of the Content by us or any of our affiliated companies.

Please read our privacy policy for information on how we use your personal data for the purposes of this licensing agreement and our use of the Content.

Governing law

These licensing terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Swedish law without regard to its principles of conflict of laws.

Confirmation and authorisation

By responding to our request with the hashtag #kylläIKEA (without any additional terms or conditions) you confirm that you have read and understood the above Terms in full and that you agree to the use of your Content in accordance with these Terms.
