IKEA Oy general terms of delivery for business customers

These terms and conditions apply to transactions between IKEA and business customer unless otherwise agreed in writing. Terms of delivery apply to products (such as furniture) and transport services. These terms and conditions are in force from 20th November 2023. 

IKEA Oy reserves the right to change the terms of delivery.

Forming of contract

Contract is formed when the customer accepts the offer made by IKEA Oy in writing. The offer is valid for one (1) month from the date of creation the offer. When the customer orders directly from IKEA Oy, contract is formed when IKEA Oy confirms the order.

Prices

Prices of products are the IKEA Oy prices in force at the time. Value added tax is added to the prices at the current VAT rate, along with possible other statutory charges.

For products, stated prices are always valid for individual products unless otherwise agreed, excluding campaigns. The transport price is valid as a whole, unless otherwise agreed.

IKEA Business Network members are offered all IKEA Family and other current promotions and campaign benefits. The current rates, offers, promotional benefits and conditions can be found at our website, IKEA.fi.

Right to withhold delivery

If an advance payment has been agreed on, the advance payment must be made before the products are delivered. IKEA Oy reserves the right not to deliver products and terminate the contract in whole or in part, if the customer has not paid due invoices, the customer has not paid the advance payment or the client's credit line has been exceeded or is in danger of being exceeded. The right to withhold delivery or terminate the contract is also applicable to situations where a technical or administrative error has resulted in an order confirmation, but the customer's billing account limit has actually been exceeded prior to the order or is exceeded with the order.

Delivery time

Delivery time varies by product. The estimated delivery time of the products will be confirmed upon ordering.

Store order

The delivery date and time is confirmed when making the offer and the order is delivered at a time chosen by the customer. The carrier contacts the customer about 30 minutes before delivery.

We reserve the right to change delivery times caused by changes and additions made by the customer.

Delivery methods

Parcel deliveries, curbside home deliveries and room-of-choice home deliveries, Click & Collect from third-party collection points or parcel lockers, and Click & Collect Near You require a minimum order value of 10 euros. This value is calculated on the price incl. taxes before quantity-discounts, bundle-discounts and coupons, as well as price reductions connected to IKEA FAMILY or IKEA Business Network membership and before any service charges, delivery fees. Prices after price adjustments due to our New Lower Prices, last chance to buy and time restricted product price offers apply. For orders that do not meet this amount, the aforementioned delivery services will not be offered. No minimum order value applies to Click & Collect at an IKEA store or an IKEA-owned locker.

Delivery service without carrying shipment inside the apartment (curbside delivery)

The shipment is delivered to the delivery address marked in the order, to the nearest point where the vehicle combination has unobstructed access. The shipment is handedover to the recipient whose name is in the order.

The exact delivery place of the shipment depends on how near the driver can get to inhis delivery van. For example, this may be in front of the door or a stairway, in the yard or at the curbside.

Delivery service where shipment is carried inside the apartment (home delivery)

The shipment is carried inside the apartment so make sure the access to the apartment is unobstructed and it is possible for the delivery van to drive next to the apartment. Asa work safety policy drivers have been instructed to wear safety shoes so it is a good idea to protect the passageway. Ensure service availability to the delivery address when making the order.

Home Delivery Parcel (Delivery to the front door)

Delivery for shipments under 35kg. Delivery will be carried to the apartment door.

Hand-over of the shipment and inspection obligation

The customer must check the number of packages to be received on the order confirmation provided by the seller and check the condition of the packages before acknowledging receipt of the delivery. If any of the packages are missing or damaged, the customer should contact IKEA Customer Service immediately.

Any defects or objections to the delivery must be notified to the supplier of the goods at the latest within 5 days. IKEA Oy is not obligated to compensate the customer for any indirect damages caused by a delivery delay or defect.

Returns and exchanges

IKEA Oy offers customers the right to return an unused product within 365 days, because it is important to us that the customer is always happy with their IKEA purchase. The customer is credited to their bank account or if the customer has paid with card, the refund is credited to the payment card they used.

When buying with the IKEA for Business card or account, the refund is credited to the same account. IKEA LEASING refund is credited through Finnish branch of Ikano Bank AB (publ) which will make the refund through the leasing contract.

Mattresses have a separate refund policy. Read more on our website ikea.fi. The right to return and exchange is an added benefit that IKEA Oy offers its customers. A product can be returned to any IKEA store or pick-up point.

Services

IKEA Oy is not responsible for assembly or installation of products unless agreed upon by both parties in a separate agreement. This also applies to assembly and installation workcarried out by an IKEA Oy partner.

Limitation of liability

If a delivery is delayed or incorrect, IKEA Oy is only responsible for direct costs that this causes to the customer.

IKEA Oy is not responsible for any indirect damages in any case.

IKEA Oy is responsible for costs resulted from replacement of defective product when the defect is caused by IKEA Oy. If the reason for the return is other than defect caused by IKEA Oy, the customer is responsible for the returns costs.

Other terms

These terms of delivery will be applied in conjunction with the terms that the parties have specifically agreed upon. These terms of delivery are not subject to unilateral terms in the customer's request for quotation.

Applicable law and dispute settlement

These terms of delivery are governed by Finnish law.

Disputes arising from these terms of delivery will be conclusively settled in arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the Central Chamber of Commerce. However, the provisions of the Rapid Response Procedure will not apply to the settlement of a dispute. The arbitral tribunal is one-member. The place of arbitration is Helsinki. The language of arbitration is Finnish.
