Why is there another email address when I activate Control Anywhere?

The first user who set up Control Anywhere (or integrations) and their email will be the host to the hub and will also be the person who has to grant access to other users via their email.

  • Why do I need an email address to use Control Anywhere?

    Your email address helps us to autheticate that you are the one who is authorized to access your devices when you are outside home. We use your email for authentication purposes only, we respect your privacy and our IKEA values, so we ensure that we will not use your email address for any other purpose apart from autentication.

  • I didn't receive the verification email to set up Control Anywhere.

    Please check folder for junk mail, or try the process again.

  • How long will Control Anywhere remain enabled?

    Control Anywhere will stay enabled until you manually disable it in the IKEA Home smart app. If you haven't used the IKEA Home smart app once within 6 months period, Control Anywhere will be automatically disabled.

  • How to disable Control Anywhere when I am connected remotely?

    Control Anywhere can only be enabled or disabled when connected locally to your DIRIGERA hub due to security/privacy reasons.

  • What is Control Anywhere?

    Control Anywhere is a feature in the IKEA Home smart app that allows you to connect to DIRIGERA hub in your smart home from anywhere in the world.

  • I've done the setup but Control Anywhere is not working. What can I do?

    There can be various reasons to why Control Anywhere isn't working for you: - Ensure you have internet connection either via Wi-Fi or mobile (3G/4G/5G). - Ensure you have Control Anywhere enabled in IKEA Home smart app.
