Why can’t I connect my smartphone to the IKEA DIRIGERA hub?

If your smartphone or the IKEA Home smart app won’t connect to the DIRIGERA hub, follow these steps to check and resolve the most common connection problems.

If the connection between your smartphone, the IKEA Home smart app and the DIRIGERA hub isn’t working, first check the power supply, network connection and setup.

1. Check the power supply to the DIRIGERA hub

Make sure the DIRIGERA hub is connected to a power supply. If not, check that the power cable is connected correctly.

2. Check the connection to your router

Make sure that:
  • the DIRIGERA hub is connected to your router with a network cable
  • your router has an active internet connection

3. Install the IKEA Home smart app

Download the IKEA Home smart app from:
  • the Apple App Store
  • or the Google Play Store
Then follow the step-by-step instructions in the app to set up your DIRIGERA hub.

4. Complete the setup in the app

Follow the instructions in the IKEA Home smart app to:
  • set up your DIRIGERA hub
  • connect control devices
  • add lights and other smart products

5. Scan the QR code on the DIRIGERA hub

You’ll find a QR code on the back of your DIRIGERA hub. Scan it with your smartphone by following the instructions in the app. Can’t scan the QR code? You can also enter the hub code manually. You’ll find the hub code on the back of the DIRIGERA hub as well.
If you’re still having problems, check again that all cables are connected correctly and try again.

6. Check your smartphone’s Wi-Fi connection

Make sure your smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your DIRIGERA hub.

7. Still can’t connect?

If the problem continues:
  1. Set up the DIRIGERA hub again by following the steps in the app.
  2. If necessary, reset your smart products to their factory settings.
  3. Then start the installation again.
