Why was the system changed, cutting goods by the meter from a bale is typical IKEA.
Change is part of IKEA...
...and we are constantly looking for solutions to offer many people a better everyday life. This also applies to the shopping experience.
By switching from bale fabrics to yard goods, our customers save time and we save resources because there is no waste.
Yard goods are not and have not been included in the IKEA range in all countries. Therefore, the individual countries were free to discontinue them completely or switch to the new standardized system of fabric panels in order to make the fabrics available to many people who prefer to shop online.
In Austria we have carried yard goods in our range for many years and have decided to continue to give our customers the opportunity to remain creative with pre-cut fabrics and to design their homes according to their wishes with a new collection of typical Swedish colors and designs.
