100% committed to more sustainable cotton
All cotton in IKEA products comes from more sustainable sources. This means that our cotton is either recycled, or grown with less water and pesticides than conventional cotton. In addition, our cotton helps increase profits for the cotton farmer.
Leading constant change for cotton
By having teams on the ground in areas where it has previously been difficult to work responsibly, we can challenge the traditional ways of working and improve cotton production. We keep working actively to improve the cotton industry, and want more sustainable cotton to be the norm for the entire sector.
Since September 1, 2015, all the cotton we use for IKEA products comes from more sustainable sources.
IKEA and WWF are working together
WWF and IKEA are working together to safeguard and manage natural resources and transform business for the benefit of people and planet. Through projects within forests, cotton, freshwater and climate, the partnership is working to protect and enhance biodiversity.
IKEA is a member of Better Cotton – the world’s leading sustainability initiative for cotton. The mission is to help cotton communities thrive while protecting and restoring the environment.
