Inconsistent Performance and Limited CompatibilityAnonymous reviewerI recently purchased the IKEA food scale with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience has been mixed. The touch button functionality proved to be less than reliable, often requiring multiple presses to register. Moreover, the scale seems finicky when it comes to container recognition, as it doesn't work seamlessly with all types and struggles on smooth surfaces. The requirement for a flat and hard surface further limits its versatility. While the design is sleek, the functionality falls short of the expectations one would have for a reliable food scale.3

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
