For 40 years, IKEA Saudi has been committed to making a positive impact on the environment, continuously striving to do more in support of Saudi Vision 2030. Over the past year, we have made great progress, including:

  • Reducing food waste to below 0.9%, outperforming the global average of 2%.
  • Giving over 300,000 products a second life through resale and donation initiatives.
  • Recycling 2,000 tons of materials, including cardboard, plastic, metal, and glass.
  • Achieving 100% recycling of our electronic waste.

At IKEA, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We’re not just about furnishing homes—we’re committed to creating a better everyday life for the many people while protecting the planet for future generations.

IKEA’s support for Saudi’s COVID-19 response

At IKEA, we take pride in our social responsibility and commitment to supporting the community. In partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health, we furnished quarantine centers across the Kingdom with over 1,800 products, ensuring comfort and care for those in need.

We remain dedicated to supporting our community and promoting health and well-being for all.

IKEA partnership with the Saudi Food Bank during Ramadan

The Saudi Food Bank "Etaam" aims to support partnership and awareness among the parties of society by preserving food and provide it to the beneficiaries. During the past months, the Bank was keen on benefiting and affected families due to the Covdi-19 virus. That is why IKEA Saudi Arabia has strived, from our role toward the community, to support these families in partnership with the Etyaam and contribute to providing Iftar meals. We are proud to date that we have provided 42,000 meals to beneficiary families.

Donation campaign

During Ramadan, a time of giving and togetherness, IKEA Tahlia embraced our value of “Caring for People and the Planet” by partnering with KISWA charity. As part of our Social Responsibility Program, coworkers came together to donate clothes, supporting families in need and creating a positive impact in our community.

Parking Auction for Zahra Association

Believing in our social responsibility towards society and towards our coworkers and a aiming to give our coworkers the chance to participate and support the Zahra Association during October 2019, we set up at the IKEA Service Office the "Pink Auction" to support the Zahra Breast Cancer Association. Among other activities in October under the slogan "the best protection is early detection", we offered the best three parking spots at the auction. Some coworkers contributed and we were able to collect an amount of 7101 Riyals, and the proceeds from this auction will go to Zahra Association.

Blood donation campaign

IKEA Dhahran partnered with the Wateen platform to host a blood donation campaign, encouraging coworkers to support a vital cause. This initiative raised awareness about the importance of blood donation and gave coworkers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

Empowering the next generation

At IKEA Saudi Arabia, we actively engage with young people in our communities, schools, organizations, and peer groups, empowering them to grow and thrive. We focus on recognizing their strengths, fostering positive relationships, and providing meaningful opportunities that support their leadership development. By creating an environment where youth feel valued and supported, we help them build the confidence and skills they need to shape a better future.

Creating inspiring learning spaces for future generations

As part of our commitment to the community and creating a better everyday life, we transformed three classrooms at the Second Intellectual Education Institute for Girls in Jeddah. This initiative aimed to provide a more inspiring and functional learning space.

A team of IKEA volunteers dedicated a full day to assembling furniture and preparing the classrooms, ensuring they were ready for students at the start of the school year. Through this effort, we continue to support education and help young minds thrive.

Bringing comfort to homes at Ramadan

As part of the 'Humanizing the City' initiative in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, we partnered to bring comfort and joy to the residents of the Typical Neighborhood.

In the spirit of Ramadan, we furnished homes with thoughtfully selected furniture and décor, creating more comfortable and welcoming spaces. Through this initiative, we continue to support our community and make everyday life better for the many.
