How to design your perfect PAX wardrobe

Create a customised PAX wardrobe for your clothes and accessories. With many options, the PAX system lets you design the perfect storage solution by choosing frames, doors, knobs, and organisers. Here are 6 simple steps to get started.

1. Choose your frames

First of all, work out how much space you have for your wardrobe. Measure from floor to ceiling and wall to wall – don’t forget to take the skirting board into account!

Our frames come in various sizes: three widths, two heights, two depths, plus an add-on frame for corner spaces. Choose from four colours—white, white stained oak effect, dark grey, and grey-beige—for a custom look.

Tip: Add 1cm for hinged doors and 4cm for sliding doors. If you assemble your PAX frame upright, make sure you have at least 1cm of free space above it.

2. Select doors, knobs and handles

How your PAX wardrobe looks matters! Choose between open or closed storage, or skip doors for a more airy feel with a curtain. But if not, our wide range of doors, knobs and handles will suit all kinds of room style. Start by deciding whether you want hinged or sliding doors, then choose the size and style that works with your frame. Finish with knobs and handles, which are easy to change when you want a style refresh.

3. Organise bigger things with clothes rails, drawers and shelves

Here’s where our KOMPLEMENT interior organisers do their magic. Since bigger clothes and shoes take up most space, choose a mix of KOMPLEMENT clothes rails, shelves and drawers for these first. Dresses, shirts, trousers and coats hang happily on clothes rails, while tops, jeans and jumpers and other things that like to be folded are easily stored on shelves and in drawers. Add mesh baskets to give your clothes better ventilation, and shoe shelves if you need them.

4. Find spaces for smaller accessories

Whether you are storing belts, sunglasses, jewellery, scarves, watches, hair accessories or ties, KOMPLEMENT tray inserts and dividers come with different sizes and styles of compartments to help give everything breathing space. 5. Throw light on your things!

Keep your clothes and accessories organised and easy to find with lighting. Inside, illuminate drawers, trays, or clothes rails with integrated interior lighting featuring automatic sensors, with some offering dimmable options to keep the light low on dark mornings. On the outside, lighting above or on top of your wardrobe provides a great overview and enhances your bedroom's ambience.

6. Start planning!

Once you’ve measured your space and have an idea of your storage needs, use the PAX planner to complete your wardrobe design. It adds products to your shopping bag for easy online purchase, or will create a list that you can take into the store.
