DO NOT BUY! Poor quality!ChristinePLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. WASTE OF MONEY. The pan has lost its non stick performance just after TWO WEEKS, and food sticks to it badly. IKEA refused for replacement or refund because they said it is not a quality issue. If is not quality issue, then why the food sticks? Very disappointing especially poor customer services.1
From Nonstick to Sticky in 120 Days RichardAfter four months of use, I can confidently say the IKEA Klippfisk pan hasn’t held up. When I first bought it on 28 March 2026, the nonstick surface worked well enough for everyday cooking. Unfortunately, by 28 July 2026, it’s effectively no longer nonstick.. I can’t fry eggs without them sticking badly to the surface, even when using oil or butter. This is disappointing because I’ve never used a metal spatula or anything abrasive — only silicone and wooden utensils. The pan has been treated gently, washed by hand, and never overheated, yet the coating has still worn out far too quickly. The design is convenient, but the durability of the nonstick coating is poor. Four months of normal home use shouldn’t destroy a pan, even at this price point. I expected basic longevity, but the Klippfisk didn’t deliver.1

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
