Too heavy when put togetherAnitaWhen used separately, the two separate duvets are fine, although heavier and rustley due to 90% feather fill content. I have just put the two separate layers together for winter and the combined duvet is way too heavy (over 4.2kg compared to the usual average of 2.5kg!). you have to yank it to pull it! Also I think it would be better to have more clips to prevent the two separate layers moving independently, especially around the top. I wish Ikea made a similar all seasons, two layer duvet with a 90% down/ 10% feather filling to reduce the overall weight of the combined duvet.3

How to care for your down/feather duvet

With a little care, you can prolong the life of your down/feather duvet and keep it fresh. The filling has a natural smell which can be reduced by airing or washing. Wash the duvet separately with a mild detergent (1/3 of the normal amount) on delicate cycle at 60°C. Avoid bleach/fabric softeners. Tumble dry immediately on low heat. A dryer ball or a high-quality tennis ball in the dryer will ensure more efficient drying. Air your duvet regularly, if possible, in direct sunlight.
