Super SturdyKellyIt's a great bookcase that I added Oxford doors to, so now it's a great cabinet. It looks amazing and I love that you can purchase extra shelving if needed. When it's flat packed, it is rather heavy and of course long. So if you're on your own, might pay to get it delivered inside.
Look great, easy to assemble but not convincing strength for heavy loads.JohnI installed four sets of shelves across the width of the room and they look great. Assembly is easy but the thin folding backing was not to my satisfaction. I strengthened the backing with 70x7mm thick cedar strips across the width at four of the shelves, fixed in place with Silaflex MS construction adhesive. I then back-screwed through the cedar into the shelves edges once I had decided their permanent positions. This made the shelves super strong for heavy stacked book loads. If you are seating the shelves on carpet then the back edge of the supporting sides sits over the wooden smooth edge fixing the carpet. There is a 25mm cutout in the sides to fit over the skirting board, and the smooth edge sits about 35mm out from the face of the skirting. The design includes 5mm thick plastic strip seating feet which compensates for the effect of the smooth edge but the back seating foot still sits partly over the smooth edge by ~ 6mm, so I had to shorten it.
