The IKEA Christmas range has officially dropped for 2026, bringing the joy of the festive season into your home

The new Christmas collection from IKEA is a huge 195 articles across three ranges: VINTERFINT (decorations), STRÅLA (lighting) and VINTERSAGA (food). It is all about finding new ways to make the festive season feel like your own and set the scene in your home for a playful and joyful time to come together with friends and family.
This year, the Christmas collection from IKEA is built around two distinct themes. ‘Scandinavian Folklore’ is rooted in tradition, with familiar Christmas colours and details that feel warm, nostalgic and timeless. ‘Happy Carnival’ is more playful, with bright colours, patterns and unexpected twists…hot dog tree ornament, anyone?
Christine Gough, Life at Home expert, IKEA Australia and New Zealand said “Christmas in Australia and New Zealand is all about basking in summer entertaining and being proud to open our homes to our loved ones and create an atmosphere that feels both effortless, but extra special and with a little festive magic at the same time.
“We know Christmas can be an expensive time, and IKEA is here to help make hosting, gifting, cooking and decorating the home achievable and easy. The products in our Christmas range are affordable and high quality; designed to be long-lasting so they can become family favourites to add to the collection bought out and re-used year after year.”
It all starts with the Christmas tree, with options for every space and style, from artificial pine trees (starting at $39.99 AUD, NZD $59.99), a string light tree, pot plants and a space-saving wooden wall tree decoration ($24.99 AUD, $29.99 NZD) that can double as a DIY advent calendar, perfect for apartment living.
The decoration options are limitless at IKEA and are made from a range of sustainable materials including straw, felt, glass, paper, linen and recycled polyester. Hanging tree decorations come in all shapes and sizes this year: from jolly birds and squishy red mushrooms to paper lanterns and woodland animals even to icons of the IKEA food range the soft serve ice cream ($7.99 AUD, $9.99 NZD) and hot dog ($7.99 AUD, $8.99 NZD)!
Keep the little and big kids busy in the lead up to Christmas with the iconic IKEA gingerbread house kits in regular and mini size (both $8 AUD, $8.50 NZD). The gingerbread village has expanded this year to include assemble-yourself gingerbread Christmas tree ($8 AUD, $8.50 NZD) and elves ($6.50 AUD & NZD) kits, too!
Forget elf on the shelf, in Sweden it’s all about a gnome known as ‘tomte’, who is said to protect the home in Scandinavian folklore, is available in a number of sizes as a cute plush Santa Claus decoration ($14.99 AUD, $16.99 NZD) found sitting anywhere around the home to add a touch of northern hemisphere festive spirit.
In lighting, the new range includes star-shaped paper lamp shades, festive string lights ($16.99 AUD, $19.99 NZD) red and green candles, candlestick holders like this Santa boot ($6.50 AUD, $7.50 NZD) and a variety of LED decorations like this snowman ($17.99 AUD, $19.99 NZD) and modern candelabras ($24.99 AUD, $29.99 NZD) for creating a striking Christmas tablescape.
IKEA gift wrap is always a best-seller and this year sees the introduction of double-sided wrap with two patterns to vary the look of your presents ($4.25 AUD, $4.99 NZD), as well as paper and cloth bags ($9.99 AUD, $19.99 NZD), boxes, stockings, sacks, ribbon, string and gift tags to make gifting easy.
To get your haul home, or for transporting gifts, the humble FRAKTA bag also gets a Christmas glow up, with the large size carrier bag coming in a special-edition muted dark green and red check pattern ($3.99 AUD, $4.99 NZD).
