“Home idea with IKEA”
A boho bedroom full of personality
Lina’s bedroom is more than just a place to sleep. It’s where much of her everyday life unfolds. She works here, enjoys lunch, spends time with her cat, Cat, reads comics, cares for her plants and makes room for her many other interests.
To help everything find its place and keep work separate from rest, our interior designers, Kotryna and Siga, created a cosy boho-inspired space that reflects Lina’s personality. Take a look!
Interior designers‘ task:
- Create a more comfortable and spacious workspace, as Lina often works from home and even has lunch at her desk.
- Design a wardrobe with room for more clothes and personal belongings, including her judo gear, comics, manga, posters and art books.
- Find a smart way to display and care for all houseplants.
- Bring new life to the empty walls that Lina has grown tired of.
- Show how IKEA furniture and accessories can help create a dream space in any style, beyond Scandinavian.
Spot the transformation!
Before the makeover, Lina’s many hobbies and belongings didn’t have a clear place in her bedroom. Now, thoughtful storage solutions and dedicated zones for work and relaxation make it easier to stay organised and enjoy her free time.
Cosy boho feel
The refreshed bedroom features warm earthy tones, natural materials, layers of soft textiles and plenty of greenery.
One piece for work and downtime
A multifunctional table serves as both a workspace and a dining area. Above it, SKÅDIS pegboards keep everyday essentials, creative tools and inspiring details within easy reach. And for snacks, drinks or extra work supplies, a compact trolley by the table is always handy.
A botanical corner
Lina’s plants now have a dedicated home on sturdy BROR shelving units. Resistant to moisture and easy to clean, they’re ideal for displaying and caring for plants. To reach pots on higher shelves, there’s a BEKVÄM step stool that doubles as a bedside table. Eith the handle opening at the top, it’s easy to move wherever needed.
Anything but boring
Made from solid untreated pine, IVAR shelving and cabinets age beautifully and develop their own character over time. The natural wood can be painted, stained or customised with patterns, making each piece uniquely yours.
Need more wardrobe space?
Drawer organisers help keep things tidy, while SPANTAD vacuum storage bags create extra space on shelves. Seasonal textiles and clothing can be compressed into neat, compact packs and stored away until needed.

“Separate areas for work and rest: furniture placement helps define each zone, while different lighting and rugs make the distinction even clearer.”
