All children are welcome to Småland, a magical forest full of play and fun! Småland is a free play area for the convenience of customers who come to IKEA with their children. Adults can look around the store and get inspired, while the little ones have a great time under the watchful eye of our co-workers.

How to start the fun

Entry

Småland welcomes children aged 3 to 7 years.

The child must be able to use the restroom on their own or wear a nappy. They can only enter the play area wearing socks (no shoes allowed).

Check-in and obtaining a wristband

The person responsible for the child must complete a registration form.

The same person, who brings and registers the child and later picks them up, receives a Småland wristband to wear on their arm. They must ensure that the number on their wristband matches the number on the child’s wristband. It is strictly forbidden to remove the wristband before picking up the child or to pass it to anyone else.

Picking up the child

The child may be picked up only by the person responsible for them, using the matching wristband number.

The wristband must be removed only after the child has been picked up.

Safety first

To make playtime in Småland as safe as possible, we have a few simple routines:

• We set capacity for safety reasons. When the number of children exceeds 20, you may have to wait.
• In an emergency, we will evacuate your child to the designated area next to the store. You can pick up your child there following our standard procedures with your signature and matching wristband.
• If your child gets injured, becomes upset or misses you, we will contact you by phone. If we call you, please come to Småland immediately.
• Ensure that your child is in good health before entering the play area. If your child shows any symptoms of illness, we will contact you immediately and ask you to pick them up.
