IKEA Family donation

Building a more inclusive local community

At IKEA Japan, we have been supporting organizations operating near our stores that help children and families facing, or at risk of facing, social and economic hardship. This support has been made possible through funds raised via IKEA Family donation program, helping them gain access to safe and secure housing.

To further contribute to the development of local communities, we are now expanding the scope of our activities. Our support will reach a broader range of individuals who are experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing, social and economic challenges. We aim to transform the areas surrounding IKEA’s customer meeting points—such as stores and offices—into fairer, more inclusive communities where everyone can live comfortably. IKEA co-workers, customers, and local residents will be empowered to take an active role in this transformation.

  2. Empowering children and youth
  3. Opening pathways to decent employment
  4. Scaling fair & equal services and business models

Every time a customer swipes their card as part of a purchase, IKEA will accumulate 10 JPY  Based on this reserve, we will carry out support activities from planning interior design, to providing products, and assembling products. And we create better everyday life of the many more people.
