Fighting poverty and climate change
Every child has the right to a bright and healthy future. Unfortunately, for many children around the world poverty and the increasing effects of climate change stand in the way. The IKEA Foundation is working to generate opportunities for these children and create better lives for their families.
The IKEA Foundation was established by the founder of IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad. He wanted to take his vision of creating “a better everyday life for the many people” beyond offering well-designed, affordable furniture to IKEA customers. This shared vision continues to inspire the IKEA Foundation to this very day.

What is the IKEA Foundation?
The IKEA Foundation is a philanthropic organisation that provides grants for programmes that help families living in poverty afford a better everyday life, and fight and cope with climate change.
Families don’t just need financial stability. If they and their children are to thrive, they also need a healthy environment. This is why the IKEA Foundation’s commitments to helping families improve their incomes and to protecting the planet go hand in hand.
