It did what I wanted it to…Anonymous reviewerI just needed a simple gold frame, and this one was priced well, and was available in the size I wanted.
I would have given it five stars because it’s easy to use & looks good on the wall…but I was mounting a piece of canvas with lots of white in it (which was slightly larger than the cardboard matte), and the gray backing of the frame showed through if I removed the cardboard mat, so the painting would lie flush. I ended up having to use a bit of tacky material to put the artwork ON TOP OF the mat, which worked, but wasn’t ideal.
I assume that the color of the frame backing is due to cost or recycled material, but I feel that if the mat is white, then the background should be, too.
