Why do the assembly instructions warn against directly touching the halogen bulb?
Halogen bulbs become extremely hot when lit, but if you touch them with your bare hands, the oils from your skin will carbonize and the heat will be unevenly distributed in the bulb, leading to damage. When replacing the bulb, be sure to hold it over a paper towel or cloth. Also, be careful not to touch the bulb with bare hands as it will become extremely hot when lit.
Please note that sales of halogen bulbs have been discontinued. When purchasing replacement bulbs, please check the base size before purchasing LED bulbs.
