Why let your much-loved IKEA furniture go to waste? Bring them back to us any time of the year and we’ll buy them back. You’ll then get in-store credit to make your next purchase more affordable, while your used furniture finds a new home.
Notice
Our collection service for Buyback request ended on 27 October 2025.
The final date for quotes to be eligible for the collection service is 26 October 2025.
Customers who receive their quote by 26 October will have until 10 November 2025 to apply for the collection service using the link in the confirmation email.
After this date we look forward to you bringing your pre-loved items to the store yourself to use our buyback service.
How it works
1. Calculate your furniture's value
Use the quotation tool to check how much in-store credit you'll get for your used IKEA products.
Please select the appropriate condition from the three levels (like new, very good, good) for each piece of desired furniture, considering the usage and damage status. Refer to this page
2. Receive your estimate
Look out for an email with your estimated quote and a number to reserve your transaction.
3. Bring it back to us
Bring your assembled furniture to your local IKEA store within 30 days of receiving your estimate.
4. Assessment and final offer
At the exchange & returns area, the condition of your furniture will be examined and a final price will be given. This can differ from the original estimate.
5. Get your IKEA return card
You will receive in-store credit to spend online or in store at any time. It can't be used in our Bistros, Restaurants or Swedish Food Markets (IKEA Food).
6. Give your furniture a new life*
All products in good condition will be resold at no profit in the resell aisle at the store.
All buy backed items are inspected and resold at the IKEA store's Circular Market.
*Products not in a suitable condition can be recycled or disposed of according to our zero waste to landfill policy.
Second hand furniture IKEA doesn’t buy back
The following items are not eligible for buy back service
- Non-IKEA furniture, furniture without IKEA Logo
- Furniture that have been used outside including outdoor furniture
- Bedframe, Mattresses, bed textiles (such as blankets and mattress toppers)
- Sofa, Sofa bed
- Furniture size of 3 dimensions more than 3 .8m
- Home furnishing accessories including lighting and textiles
- Furniture for baby such as Beds and Cots
- Furniture containing glassDeflection, distortion, cracking, lack of parts
- Problem with the function in the use of the furniture
- Significant dirt, smell, and break such as mold, stains, rust
- Not assembled correctly or has been remodeled
- Dismantled (If you need to dismantle to bring it, please reassembling it at the store by yourself.)
Important notes
- The estimation price is not the defined valuation. We will determine the final valuation price after we actually check the furniture at the IKEA store, but we may refuse to accept the furniture if it is in good condition or if the product is not eligible for buyback service.
- IKEA furniture has engraved, printed or sticker with the IKEA logo. We will check it on buyback process, so please do not shave or scrape it.
- If the furniture that are not eligible for buyback service, you need to take the furniture back to your home.
- Only after you are satisfied with the final valuation price, the buyback process is concluded. Once the buyback process has been concluded, it cannot be cancelled at the customer's convenience.
- The estimation price is valid for 30 days.

After we buy back?
IKEA stores sell products which have been bought from customers, or products that are no longer displayed or sold, at Circular market after inspecting them to ensure that they are safe for use. This way IKEA and our customers can reduces waste.
When you visit a store, please stop by Circular market near the checkout on the first floor.
*It is located on the 2nd floor at IKEA Shibuya.
