Material
What is wool?
Wool is a practical natural material that usually comes from sheep. The raw wool is washed and then spun into yarn. Wool rugs have many advantages. They're soft, warm and comfortable to walk on, and they're also very hardwearing. They're stain-resistant too, because wool has it own natural oil. This means that dirt stays on the surface and doesn't penetrate into the rug. All wool rugs shed - some more, some less - vacuum them regularly to prevent the loose fibres from scattering.

Our rugs are different, just like every home. Each one is handmade by skilled artisans using their special weaving technique where the natural materials with different textures, patterns and colours create an authentic feel. These are limited-edition rugs where the design and style are updated frequently. So choose the one that suits your home best and enjoy a unique work of art that can withstand wear and tear for many years.
Form design process
Made using the Panja weaving technique
Panja weaving is a centuries-old method for making stunning and intricate rugs. A wooden frame with vertical threads is required, and the weaver uses a claw-like tool known as a "panja", to weave horizontal threads tightly through the vertical ones. Panja weaving is time-consuming and it usually takes 4-5 days to complete a rug. It involves considerable skill and attention to detail, resulting in one-of-a-kind works of art of exceptional quality and durability.
Designer thoughts
Designer thoughts
“The inspiration for NICKGRÄS rug comes from Swedish folklore where the rooster was a common symbol of the sun. The details in red, blue and yellow represent all the wildflowers of the countryside. Using wool yarn, skilled craftsmen have captured these elements and created a pattern where small braids in the corners enhance the playful expression of the rug. The result is a handwoven gem that will make your living room feel bright, cheerful and inviting."
