Our Trust Line exclusively handles and reviews topics related to the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LKSG), particularly human rights, working conditions, the environment, and other aspects enshrined in the LKSG.

IKEA takes any workplace or supply chain misconduct very seriously. You can report the following issues and violations in particular using the Trust Line:               

 

You can at any time report any suspected breaches in internal corporate guidelines such as the IKEA Code of Conduct, IKEA Human Rights Declaration in Germany, IWAY, and/or regulations or laws, or any suspected human or environmental risks or disregard for human rights or environmental obligations at IKEA or a supplier in your work environment before or in connection with your professional activities at IKEA.

 

Refer to Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) Section 2 for an overview of statutes and regulations covered by the Act, and Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LKSG) Section 10 for issues covered by the complaints procedure in the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act.  

 

Always report any issues regarding your order or purchase using IKEA Contact & Help; our Trust Line will not handle these issues.

 

A.     IKEA internal trust line

You can raise a concern with us using the following IKEA reporting channels:

B. External official compliance centres

We still recommend that you raise your concern with the IKEA internal Trust Line above if the violation can be effectively dealt with internally without fear of reprisals.      

1. When should I report an incident?

IKEA co-workers, suppliers and/or external contractors can raise issues especially if they suspect any of the following:

  • Potential violations of internal company guidelines such as the IKEA Code of Conduct    
  • Potential violations of the IKEA Human Rights Declaration
  • Potential violations of IKEA IWAY supplier standard
  • Potential violations of regulations or laws, especially regarding German Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) Section 2 and Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LKSG) Section 10    
  • Potential violations of occupational health and safety regulations
  • Corruption or other criminal offences
  • Potential violations of human rights and environmental protection obligations
  • Risk to humans or the environment due to IKEA or a supplier   

 

2. Can reporting an incident harm my position and reputation?

Rest assured that compliance with all IKEA guidelines such as the Code of Conduct, policy documents, IWAY, and all relevant rules and regulations is extremely important to us. Our success rests on our core values: Honesty, respect, fairness, integrity, and legal compliance. We can assure you that acting towards upholding these values will not harm your position or reputation in any way. We will not accept or tolerate any discrimination or hostility for doing the right thing.

 

3. What happens after I’ve raised a concern?

This is how we’ll handle your concern:

  • We’ll confirm receipt within seven day.
  • We’ll check that the suspected violation you have reported falls within the scope of Trust Line.
  • We’ll keep in touch with you.
  • We’ll check the validity of your report.
  • We’ll ask you for any further information we might need.
  • We’ll take the appropriate follow-up action.
  • We’ll send you feedback on our follow-up measures, whether planned or taken, and the reasons for these measures within three months of acknowledging receipt, unless doing so would jeopardise ongoing investigations or the data privacy rights of others.

 

Our Trust Line can take the following measures in particular:

  • Conduct internal investigations with the employer or respective organisational unit and contact the people and work units involved.
  • Refer you to other relevant authorities.
  • Drop proceedings for lack of evidence or for other reasons:
  • Refer the case to one of our internal investigation units or a competent authority for further investigation.

 

Your concern will be evaluated by those responsible according to the four-eyes principle. Those responsible at the Trust Line are specifically trained employees appointed by Ingka Group People & Culture or Ingka Group Business Risk & Compliance. Your concern will be sent to the appropriate co-workers at the Trust Line at least at country level, who will take further care of it.

We’ll inform you who you need to contact instead if your incident reported does not fall under the jurisdiction of the Trust Line.

 

We recommend that you log into the Trust Line system regularly using your case number for as to ask you any further questions or request important information about your concern if we need to.

 

4. Who will be handling my concern?

The Trust Line will involve as few people as possible while processing a concern. All co-workers handling concerns are specifically trained and bound to confidentiality.

These are the only IKEA co-workers with initial access to concerns raised with the Trust Line.

Your concern and identity, if you have revealed it, will be forwarded to the appropriate co-workers at the Trust Line. Information from any further investigations will also be sent to the co-workers responsible for handling your concern.

The co-workers appointed to make further investigations or take further action will be working at least one level higher in the organisation than the person reporting an incident.

 

5. Can I provide further information at a later date?

The person in charge at the Trust Line may have additional questions for you. These questions will be stored for you in the Trust Line system. You can access them using your case number. You can submit your responses through the same reporting channel that you used to report your incident.

We advise against anonymous reporting to avoid false accusations and corresponding investigations. We recommend that you always provide your first and last name along with your concern. We will take all necessary measures to protect your identity.

 

6. How can I find out about the progress in my case?

Your concern will be given a case number after you report it. We will give you this number. You can log into the Trust Line system at any time to access your report and any further communication related to it.

The appropriate co-workers at the Trust Line will confirm that they have received your concern within seven days after you reported it, keep you informed of progress if necessary, and provide you with feedback on follow-up measures planned or already taken together with the reasons for these measures within three months after confirmation of receipt unless doing so would affect ongoing investigations or the data privacy rights of others.

 

7. Who will have access to my concern, and how will it be stored?

We take every technical and organisational security measure necessary to protect confidential data with regard to concerns raised on the Trust Line to prevent deletion, accidental or intentional tampering or alteration, loss, or access by unauthorised third parties. Your concern will be treated in strict confidence. This means we will only forward the incident you have reported to the extent necessary to the appropriate co-workers, who are bound to confidentiality.

 

8. Could raising a concern damage the position and reputation of the individuals or companies involved?

We will treat everyone involved equally and fairly. The people or companies concerned will be informed if we decide to proceed to an investigation. We will give the persons and contractual counterparties accused the opportunity to present their side of the story. We will decide on any actions on the basis of the facts.

 

9. Personal data privacy

You have the following rights in how we process your data:

  • The right to request information on the data stored (GDPR Art. 15)       
  • The right to have inaccurate data corrected (GDPR Art. 16)       
  • The right to have your data deleted unless we have legal reason for further storage (GDPR Art. 17)  

 

10. Transmission of confidential data

Some confidential data may be processed by and transferred to Ingka Group entities inside and outside the European Economic Area. The Ingka Group always ensures compliance with data protection laws in such cases.
