You can switch your IKEA purchase worth €4.000 or more to 0 % financing* at a payment term of thirty-six or forty-eight months within thirty days after the purchase date. 

*You can switch any IKEA Family credit card purchase worth €99 or more from IKEA Germany to 0 % financing at a payment term of three, ten, or twenty months in our credit card online banking service within thirty days after purchase; the same applies to IKEA purchases worth €4,000 or more, but at a payment term of thirty-six or forty-eight months instead. The agreed price and service list will still apply along with the contract terms if you choose not to switch (you will be forwarded to the German price and service list). The 3D Secure process provides additional security when you shop online.

You can also book optional card services such as shopping and travel insurance.

What are the requirements when applying for an IKEA Family credit card?

• Age at least eighteen
• Residence in Germany, valid bank details
• Identification at your IKEA store or using OnlineIdent/PostIdent identification services

What documents do I need to include with my application?

German and EU citizens: 

• Valid official photo ID (passport, national identity card)
• No address on your ID? Registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung) (from less than a year ago) or electricity or gas bill (sent to the applicant less than a year ago) or proof of salary or telephone bill (issued to the applicant within the last three months)

Non-EU citizen:

• Valid passport
• Permanent German or EU residence permit)
• Registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung)
• Alternative proof of address: electricity or gas bill (from less than a year ago); phone, internet/TV, mobile phone bill, or salary slip (from within the last three months) issued on the name of the applicant

Can I apply at an IKEA store? 

You can apply online or at an IKEA store or planning studio. 

You can go shopping at IKEA right away using your IKEA Family credit card.

How does the approval process work?

First, you apply at an IKEA store, planning studio, or online; after approval, we’ll provide you with a temporary card for you to use right away online or at an IKEA store or planning studio. 

How high is the minimum purchase amount for financing?

You can switch an IKEA purchase worth €99 or more to 0 % financing.

Apart from that, you can arrange to pay in instalments for all your IKEA Family credit card purchases. For IKEA purchases, we charge an effective APR of 8.99 % and a variable interest rate of 8.64 %. For non-IKEA purchases, we charge an effective APR of 17.49 % and a variable debit interest rate of 17.49 %. The minimum rate is €25 or 2.5 % of the balance.

Can I use my IKEA Family credit card to make purchases right away?

Your application will only take a few minutes to approve. You can start shopping right away after presenting your credit card membership at the IKEA store or planning studio. We’ll issue you a temporary card to start with.

However, you can also use the OnlineIdent service for identification. This only takes a few minutes, and you can use your IKEA Family credit card immediately after that.

Your IKEA Family credit card will take only a few days to get to you once you’ve completed the PostIdent process and submitted your contract documents at Deutsche Post. 

How will I receive my final credit card, and how do I use it?

We’ll be sending you your IKEA Family credit card and PIN by post.

Where can I use my IKEA Family credit card?

Anywhere that accepts Visa. Your IKEA Family credit card also includes V-PAY.

How can I check my account balance?

You can check your credit limit and balance using our credit card online banking service. You can also select or change your payment options there.

What happens if I take out less than the loan financing I requested?

Your IKEA Family credit card has a credit limit that you set when you apply; you can raise or lower it later. You can make purchases within your credit limit; you will of course only need to pay the amount you actually spent on the purchase.  

How do I cancel my IKEA Family credit card?

You can cancel your credit card contract with Ikano Bank at any time without notice.

How can I switch a purchase to 0 % financing?

Our credit card online banking service will show you all the purchases you can switch to 0 % financing.

How much interest will you charge on my IKEA Family credit card?

For IKEA purchases, we charge an effective APR of 8.99 % and a variable interest rate of 8.64 %. We charge an effective APR of 16.23 % and a variable debit interest rate of 16.23 % for non-IKEA purchases. You can switch an IKEA purchase worth €99 or more to 0 % financing. 

How do I get my bonus?
