E-cargo trailers for hire
Some IKEA stores hire out e-cargo trailers.
These trailers have an auxiliary electric motor and are a great way of getting your shopping home without all the effort while still protecting the environment. You can use one of these trailers as a handcart or bike trailer.

Hire an e-cargo trailer from Freetrailer
E-cargo bikes are only available for registration and hire through Freetrailer at the following IKEA stores.
- IKEA Karlsruhe
- IKEA Osnabrück
Prices
The first three hours are free if you book at the store and immediately before use. To do this, share your location in the Freetrailer app.
Otherwise, Freetrailer charges a reservation fee of €4.
Each additional hour costs €5.
Requirements
- You need to be at least eighteen.
- Simply install the Freetrailer app on your smartphone.
Good to know
- E-cargo trailer dimensions are 200x80x23 cm.
- Open transport box dimensions are 86x120 cm.
- An e-cargo trailer has an unladen weight of 60 kg.
- An e-cargo trailer can load up to 150 kg.
- The maximum speed is 6 km/h when used as a hand trailer, and 25 km/h as a bicycle trailer.
- A parking brake is fitted.
