A quick overview of the three ways to get creative in IKEA Creative, as well as how to choose the right one for you.

IKEA Creative: Plan your space virtually

IKEA Creative is a free virtual room designer. It allows you to try out furniture and decorations in your home before you buy anything.
You can start in the way that suits you best:
  • Take a photo of your room.
  • Scan your room in 3D.
  • Enter the measurements of your room.
  • Use a prefabricated room as a template.
This way you can quickly find the right start for your project.

Design your space with a photo

Take or upload a photo of your room to the IKEA app. Alternatively, you can upload your photo to the website. Virtually remove existing furniture and redesign your room based on your real room.
Ideal if you want to see how new furniture and decorations harmonize with your existing décor. This will help you assess whether the size, shape and style fit your space.

Create a 3D space

Scan your room in the IKEA app if you're using a LiDAR-enabled device like an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro. IKEA Creative will create a blank 3D version of your room that you can customize.
Don't have a LiDAR-enabled device? Then simply enter the dimensions of your room on the website and create the same empty 3D room.
Ideal if you want to plan your space from scratch, taking into account the actual shape, size, and floor and wall surfaces.

Use a prefabricated space

Discover more than 50 starter rooms – from empty rooms to fully furnished living situations. Get inspired and try out different furnishing styles. You don't need any photos or a scan.
Ideal if you want to start planning right away, even if you don't know the dimensions of your room yet or can't take a photo yet. For example, before a move.
