  1. Description of the website

The IKEA website at https://www.ikea.com/de/de (hereinafter also referred to as the "Website") contains an online store for the sale of IKEA products, in particular furnishings for all rooms at home, the garden and the balcony (including electrical appliances, household goods, textiles, plants and decorative items) and for business premises. IKEA products may be viewed in the online store via digital product pages, added to a digital shopping cart, ordered and paid for. Certain used IKEA products can also be sold back to IKEA.IKEA also offers various additional services. These service offerings provide support in putting together furnishings (for example: storage solutions, sofas), in planning rooms (for example: kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, children's rooms, bathrooms), in financing and delivering IKEA products and in customer loyalty (for example: IKEA Family customer profile).
  2. Explanation of the website

    2.1 General functions

The website is designed as a comprehensive platform that offers users easy navigation via the website header with the main areas
    Products
    Rooms
    Now at IKEA
    Offers & promotions
    Inspiration & planning, and
    customer service
    is made possible.
The main areas are divided into suitable subcategories, which can also be accessed directly. In addition, you can always open your own IKEA Family customer profile and shopping cart via the website header. The website is controlled via a clear menu structure and is supplemented by a search function and filter options. Users can search, filter, select and click on IKEA products to obtain further information. Each subpage of the website shows the structure level as well as the current path and thus allows a quick change to higher-level categories (so-called "breadcrumb navigation"). The footer of the website contains a corresponding navigation menu. All navigation menus are structured in a similar way throughout the website.

    2.2 Product pages

The desired products may be accessed via the product categories or the search function. The product pages are logically structured and provide product information including mandatory information, dimensions, images, prices and the option to check availability and submit a product review. Users may also access further information on materials, care, installation and safety on the respective product page. The product pages are structured in such a way that all relevant information and documents are directly accessible. All product pages are also structured according to the same logic.

    2.3 Shopping cart

The shopping cart may be accessed at any time via the shopping cart icon on the right of the header of the website and shows an overview of the selected products and their total amount. Users may check their selection, add products, change quantities and remove items. They may also check availability and conditions for delivery and collection from the store.

    2.4 Order completion

As the order process continues, the personal data required for contract processing and delivery is collected from customers. The delivery or collection option and the desired payment method are then selected on the order completion page and the order is finalized.

    2.5 Planners and consultations

Online services from IKEA support the personal composition of furnishings and planning of rooms. They enable users to select products and all selectable product components independently. Depending on the project, an appointment may also be booked for a personal consultation in the store, a telephone consultation or an online consultation. After the consultation, users may request a detailed shopping list and the option to place an order directly.
  3. Description of the accessibility

Parts of the IKEA website are an "electronic commerce service" within the meaning of the Accessibility Improvement Act. It is therefore subject to certain accessibility requirements.
    The website must
