Which light should I choose for which room?

Here we’ve put together some important tips to help you select the right lighting: 

The colour temperature of a lamp, measured in Kelvin, influences the mood of the light. The higher the Kelvin value, the more intense the colour appears. Warm white lamps are particularly suitable for living areas. In kitchens and workspaces, neutral white or daylight white light is often used, as it promotes concentration and has an activating effect.

The brightness of a light source is indicated by the lumen value. There are different reference levels: 100 to 150 lm per m² in the living room as well as in bedrooms and children’s rooms, 250 to 300 lm per m² in the kitchen, and 250 to 300 lm per m² in the study or home office.

The colour rendering index (CRI) tells you how realistically the colours of a light source appear. An ideal value is 80 or higher.
