Cookes hood filters

Sometimes it's not possible to connect your hood to ducting or vents. Our cooker hood filters remove smells by recirculating the air instead. Here you’ll find all our range of extractor hood filters, plus flexible pipes to connect the hoods if you want to use them for outdoor venting.

Cooker hood filters: Fresher air while cooking

Need a new cooker hood filter? At IKEA you can buy charcoal filters in the right sizes as well as flexible ducts that connect your kitchen hood to the exhaust outlet.

Which charcoal filter fits my cooker hood?

Cooker hoods come in different models so not every kitchen hood filter fits every appliance. Check the product information for your specific model to choose the right accessory. If you are unsure search for your cooker hood model in our online shop. In the product description you will find which charcoal filter is suitable for the appliance. Our staff at your local IKEA store will also be happy to help.

Why is charcoal used in cooker hood filters?

The filter in a cooker hood is responsible for capturing odor particles and harmful substances from cooking fumes. An activated charcoal filter with a large porous surface is ideal for this purpose. Charcoal filters are highly absorbent and reliably bind odors and unwanted substances. This way they neutralize cooking smells and ensure fresh air in your home.

How often should I replace a cooker hood filter?

IKEA cooker hood filters remain functional for about two to three years with regular care. After a certain time the charcoal filter becomes fully saturated and can no longer absorb odor particles. Then it needs to be replaced. Under normal use this is usually after eight regeneration cycles for example after cleaning in the dishwasher.

How do I clean a kitchen hood filter?

Rinse the charcoal filters of your cooker hood about every three months to maintain the filtering function as long as possible. The installation manual explains how to do this. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply and remove the grease filter. Open the filter housing and take out the round inserts. Clean the kitchen hood filters either in the dishwasher intensive program or by hand with hot water. Then let them dry at room temperature or in the oven at a maximum of 70 degrees.
