What is the ideal height for a chandelier above the dining table or in a room?
As a rule of thumb make sure your dining room chandelier hangs at least two meters above the floor. If you place it above a dining table a distance of around 75 cm between the table top and the chandelier is recommended.
Are chandeliers suitable for rooms with low ceilings and what are the alternatives?
Chandeliers are hanging lamps that look best with high ceilings. However if you hang a chandelier above a large dining table the ceiling height is less important since the lamp can hang a little lower without getting in the way. For lower ceilings we recommend our flat ceiling lights and ceiling spotlights as stylish alternatives.
