What should I consider when installing IKEA PAX doors? (Sliding doors & hinges explained)
Find out what you need to consider when installing PAX doors, including ceiling height, hinge positioning and special considerations for 201 cm frames.
Required ceiling height for sliding doors
- For a 236 cm frame: at least 240 cm ceiling height
- For a 201 cm frame: at least 205 cm ceiling height
Hinged doors
- first attach the hinges to the door
- then attach the door to the wardrobe frame
Special consideration for the 201 cm frame
- The hinge on the right-hand door sits slightly higher than the one on the left.
- The left-hand door is a mirrored version of the right-hand door.
- As a result, the middle hinge sits slightly above the centre on one side and slightly below it on the other.
